Chapter 8: The Reunion

June 1989

Joy Davis was in the backyard manning the grill when she heard gravel crunching beneath tires. She turned over the steaks and put the cover down on the grill. Wiping her hands on her apron, she walked around the side of the house to greet her visitor.

To say she was nervous was an understatement. She hadn't seen him for almost twenty years and that meant she was twenty years older and not the young perky girl he knew.
