THE TRANSFORMATION OF EMILY: PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS LOVE THEIR TOYS

When Emily got home from a long day of teaching, she was surprised when her husband met her at the door. Rick usually got home about an hour after her. He gave her a welcome home kiss, which she eagerly returned. Emily had brought some papers home to grade. She put them on the table and when she turned back to Rick he was holding out a gift-wrapped box. "I bought you a little surprise."

"You know I love surprises!" Her eyes sparkled as she untied the ribbon and ripped the paper from her gift. Nestled in the box was an egg-shaped object about two inches long. When she picked it up, she saw that it had a surface with a slightly wavy texture and a loop of cord for a handle on one end. Beneath it was a wireless remote control with a few buttons.

Emily gave her husband a puzzled look. "What is this?"

Rick smiled. "Turn it on and see."

Emily looked at the remote for a moment. "Hmmmm," she mused as she found a button and turned the switch on. The egg vibrated in the palm of her hand, but hardly made a sound. She cocked an eyebrow at Rick and asked, "What am I supposed to do with this?"
