Chapter 18 - Penny's home

I went into work, picking up Casey on the way, and had a pretty quiet 24 hours. I did get a call from the hot-tub engineer and booked a visit for Wednesday. My boss said I should take this Friday off as he was going to need me next week to do a trip to New York to collect a car, and this made most sense based on the current workload. Mike was back home when I came in but he shouted down that he was on the night shift so to try and keep the noise down, which I agreed. I had stripped of as usual. I shouted back up asking how his Vegas trip was and he said he'd fill me in later. Elena I guessed was still at Brad's house.

The next morning, I hung about until the last minute but Penny wasn't home before I had to go and so I left her a little note to say we'd go out for dinner and catch up tonight, my treat. She text me later to say she was home safe but was going to take today and tomorrow off work, asking not to go to our usual favourite place to eat, but something simple. Work was its usual self and 6pm swung round fast. I drove home and booked a table at a nice Mexican place I know called Ponce's, not that I would likely need to on a Tuesday night.
