I had six weeks of, more or less, lazing about ahead of me before the start of another education term began. I hadn't booked a holiday, since this was my first job as a qualified English teacher, and so I pretty well had time on my hands. A month and a half to be exact.

I decided to put the time to good use. The front room didn't have a carpet in it, while the walls in my bedroom were a vanilla white. I decided on a pastel green colour, only down to as far as waist high on me - I being quite tall for a woman at 5'10" and then in bare feet.

On Monday, before I bought the groceries and other things I needed for the next several days, I visited a carpet store. There, I managed to find an appealing off-cut, which was marked down in price.

As I ran my fingers over it, a deep shag pile with a mottled white and brown hue to it, my body trembled and my mind conjured up images of me being ‘shagged' on it.

Still revelling in such thoughts, while it would have to be delivered and fitted, I went and found an assistant and arranged to have it delivered and fitted this coming Friday.

That, of course, meant my having to move all of the lounge furniture to ...
