Julie was busy tidying up her apartment, picking up clothes from the washing basket and separating the whites from other colors. It was four o'clock and she had a pile of dirty clothes in her arms when her mobile phone rang. Throwing the clothes on the bed she went to the short side table next to the bed and picked up her mobile phone, sliding the green circle on the screen up to accept the call.

A deep, booming voice said, "Hey Jules, how're you doing?"

"Oh, Ibrahim. It's you. How are you?" Julie smiled. Ibrahim was a friend she had met through someone but they had rarely met except at parties. He always called her Jules for some reason, but she didn't really mind.

"You doing anything special tonight?" he asked her, his voice brimming with confidence. "I wondered if you want to chill and watch some Netflix at my place. David is out of town so I could use some company. I am bored." David lived with Ibrahim, she knew. He was visiting Ibrahim from Lagos but she had never met him. Ibrahim was his cousin.

"I was in the middle of cleaning my apartment, Ibrahim. It is really messy," she said. "Perhaps another time."

"Oh come on Jules, it's only one night. You can clean up any time!"
