Just as I was about to send my manuscript on the Senior Center to my editor for a final review, Rose Hallett Jones stopped in my office. She was in her late seventies and used a cane to get around. She was thin and barely five foot tall. "Miss Cathy, I heard you were writing a story about how some of us, shall we say, misbehaved in our younger days."

"That's true, but I'm sending it to my editor this week. Is there something you'd like to talk about?"

My husband and I lived in a near-by small, tight-knit community. I grew up in North Carolina, but came here for college. That's where I met my husband. I worked in the athletic department of that same college. Although small, our basketball and football teams were always among the Top 25. Some of our kids played in the NFL and NBA.
