I didn't have an opportunity to meet that freshman from Boston because I ran into Margaret VanBuskirk in the grocery store. Marge and her husband Harry had been close friends that my husband and I had socialized with a lot.

I hadn't seen them in ages. First, I was in mourning, and then I was, shall we call it ‘busy' with Jason and then Jacques. Like us, they had hosted basketball players, and Harry was the president of the college's basketball booster club. They were about my age, perhaps a few years older.

Harry owned a construction company which did multi-million-dollar projects all across the Midwest. Marge owned a commercial real estate company which managed hundreds of properties.

I agreed, and we set up a date at a local restaurant for the following Wednesday. It seemed innocent enough and I liked Marge.
