Less than a year later, my father died, and I was now solely responsible for running the ranch.

It was a disaster. Partially, it was me. Madam Fonteneau's prepared me for running a household, not a ranch. I had an elementary knowledge of accounting, but not the kind I needed to run a billion dollar empire.
