"You're serious?"

The Beyonder nodded. "Entirely."

Jalen rubbed his face, trying to shake off what had to be the wildest dream of his life.

"Nah. Nah, you got the wrong dude. I run a contracting business, man. I'm not... I don't know what kinda Star Wars shit this is, but I'm not some chosen one."

The Beyonder's voice remained steady. "You are precisely who you need to be. This is not a task of battle, nor one of heroism in the traditional sense. It is a task of creation. You are the vessel through which destiny unfolds."

Jalen stared at him like he had lost his damn mind. "You expect me to just go out and get eight women pregnant? Bro, what? That's insane."

The Beyonder's expression remained unreadable. "The women have already been chosen. They will enter your life at various times. You will know when you see them."

A sudden chill ran through Jalen's spine.

"How?"

"You will feel it."

Jalen ran a hand over his head, exhaling slowly. "And let's say, hypothetically, I even believe this nonsense. How am I supposed to convince these women to just... have my kid?"

The Beyonder shook his head. "You must not tell them."

Silence.

Jalen sat frozen for a moment before narrowing his eyes. "The fuck you mean I can't tell them?"

"They must conceive organically, willingly, and without the knowledge of their destiny. It must happen naturally. If they become aware, the balance of fate will be disrupted. I repeat, Jalen, you must not say word about this prophecy nor a word about my existence to any of them or anyone else for that matter."

Jalen's jaw tightened. "So, you want me to manipulate them?"

"No." The Beyonder's voice was firm. "You must never deceive them. You must only allow the course of fate to unfold without interference."

Jalen shook his head. "And if I say no?"

For the first time, the Beyonder's gaze darkened. Not in anger, something else. Something... inevitable.

"Then the future will fall into ruin. Entire civilizations will burn. The lives of trillions will be lost. And you will know that their destruction came from your refusal."

Jalen clenched his fists. "That's some heavy-ass guilt to put on one man."

The Beyonder nodded. "It is."

Silence stretched between them. Jalen exhaled sharply, pressing his hands to his temples. His mind refused to make sense of this, but deep down, something told him... It was real. He closed his eyes for a long moment. Then opened them. The Beyonder was gone. The air in the room was normal again, but the weight in Jalen's chest remained. He looked at his phone. 3:01 AM. A single minute had passed. But everything had changed. Forever. Jalen laid back down and eventually fell back asleep.

Nothing happened to Jalen for about three weeks, and he started to think maybe he really had dreamed it all up...

Chapter 2

Three weeks after the Beyonder's appearance in Jalen's bedroom, 25-year-old Sydney Swanson was attending a big birthday party for one of her boyfriend's coworkers, Lonnie Wright. Lonnie was turning 30 years old, and, for the party, he rented out a huge mansion where he had invited at least fifty guests to come celebrate. There were all kinds of food, snacks, drinks, and alcohol as well as a pool and a hot tub. There was even a basketball court outside in the back, and a dance floor set up downstairs. The house was made for a party like this.

Sydney's boyfriend, Greg Dalton, worked with Lonnie at the same car dealership and both were good salesman. Sydney had been dating Greg for two years. Greg checked all the boxes her parents wanted for her: white, stable job, no trouble with the law, and Christian (at least on the surface). Lately, though, Greg seemed more interested in work, playing golf, and getting drunk on weekends. The sex was very vanilla and boring too, often not lasting more than seven or eight minutes in just missionary.

Sydney worked as a marketing and communications manager for a law firm in Atlanta. She had a fresh-faced beauty and captivating presence. She had long, blonde hair, complementing her youthful and glamorous appearance, which was styled down in waves for tonight. Her facial features are delicate yet striking, with bright blue eyes that are large and expressive, adding a warm, approachable vibe to her look. Her face featured high cheekbones, a soft jawline, and full lips, giving her an elegant, classic beauty. Sydney's body had a slender yet curvy figure, which she often highlighted with stylish, chic outfits. Tonight, she was wearing a vibrant red dress that was form-fitting with structured puff sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. The dress was elegant and accentuated her figure, stopping mid-thigh. She complimented it by wearing matching red-colored 12-cm high patent leather Christian Louboutin high-heeled pumps on her feet, which added to the sleek and sophisticated look. She sported bold red lipstick, and long almond shaped blood red-colored acrylic nails, complementing the overall red color theme of her outfit. Sydney looked stunning and turned heads everywhere in the house.

Sydney shifted her weight from one foot to the other, holding a drink in her hand, nodding at the appropriate moments as Greg rambled on about golf clubs with his coworkers. She wasn't really listening. The party was in full swing as music thumped through the mansion's high ceilings, laughter and conversation filled the air, and outside by the pool, a group of women dipped their feet in the water while a few guys showed off diving tricks. Sydney should have been enjoying herself. Instead, she was bored out of her mind. Greg, already tipsy, was in his element, laughing, gesturing wildly, and talking about his backswing as if it were the single most important thing in the world. He hadn't even seemed to notice how stunning Sydney looked tonight. Probably because by now, he had taken her for granted as the women he assumed he'd marry whenever he felt like proposing.

She had spent well over an hour getting ready, and for what? To stand around and listen to Greg talk about a sport she couldn't care less about? She sighed softly, barely paying attention, her blue eyes drifting over the crowd.

And then she saw him.

A man she had never seen before. He was a tall, sort-of-light-skinned black guy, with broad shoulders, a square jawline, a clean-cut, fresh fade, and a neatly trimmed short beard. He had this effortless confidence in the way he moved. It was relaxed and smooth, like he knew exactly who he was without trying too hard.

He walked up to the bar, reaching for the bourbon. The way his hand wrapped around the bottle, it was so casual, but something about it felt incredibly attractive. Sydney couldn't keep her eyes off him. She stole one glance. Then another and another. Each time, her stomach fluttered, which was an unfamiliar sensation, but not unwelcome. She had never been with a black man before. The thought flickered across her mind unprompted, and she immediately pushed it aside. That wasn't what this was about. It was just... he was attractive. Plain and simple. Greg was still talking, and completely oblivious to the fact that Sydney's attention was now entirely on another man.

The man poured himself a bourbon and glanced in her direction. Their eyes met, and Sydney felt it. It was a spark, something unspoken but undeniable. She looked away quickly, pretending to focus on her drink. Her heart was beating a little faster. What was that? He didn't say anything. He simply stirred his drink, taking a slow sip, while his gaze drifted back to the party. For some reason, that made Sydney want to speak first.

**************************************

Jalen Moss hadn't expected anything unusual tonight. Lonnie had invited him out to celebrate his birthday, and Jalen figured it'd be a good chance to relax, have a drink, maybe shoot around on the basketball court in the back. Then he had seen her... and something had shifted.

It wasn't just attraction. He'd seen plenty of beautiful women in his life, but this was different. The moment his eyes landed on the blonde woman in the red dress, his whole body reacted. An invisible force pulled at him, deep in his gut. His heart dropped into his stomach. Not in fear, but in recognition. Then, suddenly, he realized, she was one of them. She was one of the eight women the Beyonder had told him about. Jalen's grip tightened on his drink.

"Shit." He thought.

The Beyonder had said Jalen would know when he encountered one of them, and he was right. The sensation was unmistakable. It wasn't just desire. It was like his soul had been tuned to hers without his permission. He had glanced over, noticing the tipsy white dude next to her. The guy had been talking loudly, oblivious, deep into some boring-ass golf conversation. Jalen put it together. She came with him. So now what? Was he supposed to just steal her away from her man? That wasn't really his style. But... wasn't that the whole point of this? The Beyonder had given him a mission. This girl in the red dress was part of it. Jalen took a slow breath, collecting himself. He still wasn't sure how he was supposed to navigate this. The Beyonder had been clear: Don't lie, don't deceive, but don't tell them the truth. A near-impossible balance.

He found himself standing near her as he poured himself a drink. Then suddenly, she spoke.

"So, what are you drinking?"

Jalen turned to her, locking eyes with her for real this time. Up close, she was even more striking. Blue eyes that seemed to glow, red lips that looked soft, and skin that was smooth and flawless. She stood poised, confident, and yet a little restless.

Jalen smiled slightly, lifting his glass. "Bourbon and ginger ale." His voice was smooth, casual. "You?"

She swirled her drink, the ice clinking against the glass. "Vodka cranberry."

Jalen nodded. "Classic."

She smiled, biting the inside of her lip slightly, as if holding back something.

"You here for Lonnie?" she asked, turning her body ever so slightly toward him.

"Yeah, known him since high school," Jalen said. "You?"

"My boyfriend, Greg, works with him." She nodded toward her boyfriend, who was still completely distracted, talking about golf swings and iron clubs.

Jalen chuckled. "Yeah, I figured."

She raised an eyebrow. "What gave it away?"

Jalen leaned in slightly, lowering his voice just enough for only her to hear.

"The fact that you look bored as hell."

She laughed, a real, genuine laugh. It caught her by surprise. She took another sip of her drink, her cheeks slightly warmer now. She leaned against the makeshift bar, her blood red acrylic nails lightly tracing the rim of her glass, completely absorbed in her conversation with Jalen. He was different. Not just in how he looked, but in how he carried himself.

"I'm Jalen." He said offering a hand.

"Sydney." She replied smiling, shaking his hand.

Her hands were very soft, and her smiled only pulled Jalen in more. His curiosity about her only grew.

"So, what do you do?" She asked.

"I own my own contracting business." Jalen said, swirling the drink in his glass. "I mostly do residential work like home renovations and some custom builds. Every now and then, I'll take on a commercial job, but I like sticking to houses."

Sydney's lips parted slightly in genuine admiration. "That's really impressive."

Jalen chuckled, shaking his head. "I mean, it's work. Gotta deal with tight budgets, slow permits, and clients who change their minds every five minutes."

Sydney smiled. "So, you're telling me people think they know what they want, and then halfway through, they suddenly want something completely different?"

Jalen laughed. "Every damn day."

Sydney tilted her head. "Okay, I have to ask, what's the worst client you've ever had?"

Jalen exhaled dramatically. "Oh, easy. There was this one lady, rich as hell, lived in Buckhead. Hired me to renovate her kitchen. Halfway through, she decides she wants ‘something more modern.' So, I say fine, we adjust the plans. Then, two weeks later? She changes her mind again. Wants it ‘classic' now. We go back to square one. We finish, she loves it, everything's good. And then..."

Sydney leaned in. "And then?"

Jalen shook his head with an amused sigh. "She sells the house three months later."

Sydney gasped. "You're lying."

"I wish I was."

Sydney burst into laughter, and Jalen felt something unexpected. He liked making her laugh.

She glanced down at her drink, smiling to herself before meeting his gaze again. "I'm telling you; your job sounds way more interesting than mine."

Jalen raised an eyebrow. "What do you do?"

Sydney sipped her vodka cranberry before answering. "I work in marketing and communications for a law firm."

Jalen nodded. "Sounds like a solid gig."

Sydney shrugged. "It's fine, but let's be honest, your work actually changes things. You can walk into a house, see the work you did, and know you made an impact. My job is just...emails, ad campaigns, and making the partners at the firm look good."

Jalen smiled. "That why you look so bored?"

Sydney bit her lip, shaking her head with a smile. "I'm not bored anymore."

Jalen felt that. For a moment, neither of them spoke. The sounds of the party faded into the background, and then the conversation turned more personal.

Sydney tilted her head slightly. "Did you always know you wanted to do contracting?"

Jalen hesitated, then shook his head. "Not really. I mean, I liked building things as a kid, but I didn't think about it seriously until I got older. I went to Georgia Perimeter, got my Associate's degree, and started working under some guys. I learned the trade and made connections. Eventually, I figured if I was doing the work, I might as well start my own business."

Sydney smiled. "I admire that. You built something for yourself."

Jalen nodded, then turned the question on her. "What about you? Did you always want to do marketing?"

Sydney exhaled softly. "Honestly? No. I mean, I was always good at writing and public speaking, so it made sense, but really... my parents wanted me to have a ‘stable career.' Something ‘respectable.'"

Jalen raised an eyebrow. "And marketing at a law firm checked that box?"

Sydney gave a wry smile. "To them? Yeah. Stable job, good benefits, decent money, but it's not exactly what I'm passionate about."

Jalen studied her for a moment, noticing something in her voice. A weight.

"Let me guess. Your parents had a plan for you?"

Sydney scoffed, shaking her head. "Oh, absolutely. My parents are... traditional, to put it lightly. They wanted me to find a nice, ‘respectable' man, get married, settle down. Greg checks all their boxes."

Jalen glanced toward Greg, who was now even drunker, laughing loudly at something one of his coworkers had said.

Sydney caught the look and smiled. "Yeah, I know."

Jalen leaned on the bar, studying her. "And what about what you want?"

Sydney hesitated. For the first time all night, she wasn't sure how to answer. She had spent so much time doing what was expected like choosing a safe job, dating a safe man, and playing the role her parents wanted for her. Tonight, though, for the first time in a long time, she was talking to someone who made her think about something different.

Before she could answer, Jalen shifted slightly, exhaling. "My dad had a plan for me too, before he passed."

Sydney blinked. "Oh."

Jalen realized what he had just said and almost wished he could pull the words back. It wasn't something he brought up casually, but with Sydney, it had just... come out.

Sydney's expression softened. "Jalen, I'm so sorry."

Jalen shrugged, keeping his voice even. "It was a long time ago. I was ten when it happened."

Sydney's heart clenched. She could tell from his tone that he didn't talk about this often.

She placed her drink down, facing him fully now. "What was he like?"

Jalen let out a small breath, looking down for a second before answering. "Tough, but fair. He worked hard. Construction, mostly. Always told me to ‘do something real.' Build something that lasts. That's probably why I ended up in contracting."

Sydney smiled gently. "Sounds like a good man."

Jalen nodded. "Yeah. He was."

For a few moments, neither of them spoke.

Sydney looked at him, really looked at him, and saw something that made her chest feel tight. Her boyfriend, Greg, was surface level. Predictable. Jalen was... real, and she felt herself being pulled closer to him in a way she didn't quite understand.

Jalen felt it too. That invisible force, the one the Beyonder warned him about, was growing stronger. He had thought this mission would just be about sex; about completing some cosmic duty to father eight children. Right now, though, he wasn't even thinking about that. He was genuinely interested in and intrigued by Sydney.

Jalen took another slow sip of his bourbon, eyes flickering toward Greg, who still hadn't turned around. He then turned his attention back to her, watching the way she sipped her vodka cranberry, and how her red lips curved slightly at the edges like she was enjoying herself more than she expected to. Then, before he could stop himself, he said it.

"I don't know about your boy over there, but if I were him, I wouldn't want to take my eyes off you."

Sydney's breath hitched, just slightly. For a moment, she was speechless because damn, that was bold. She turned her body more toward him, shifting her weight onto one heel, tilting her head as she searched his face.

She then let out a small laugh, shaking her head. "That so?"

Jalen nodded, setting his drink down. "Yeah."

Sydney bit her bottom lip slightly, her fingers lightly tapping against her glass.

She cleared her throat, glancing toward Greg, who was still deep in his golf talk, not even noticing that his girlfriend was having a moment with another man just a few feet away.

Her lips parted slightly, as if she was about to say something. Maybe something safe, something light to brush it off..., but she didn't want to. Instead, she met Jalen's eyes again and asked, "And what would you do if you were him?"

Jalen smiled. He saw the way she was looking at him now, the way she had subtly leaned in, and the way her eyes were locked on him with a different kind of intensity.

"For starters?" Jalen said, his voice lower now, meant just for her. "I'd be standing a lot closer to you."

Sydney swallowed. Jalen watched the way her chest rose and fell, the way her breath hitched just slightly again. He wasn't even touching her, but the tension between them was so thick, so unspoken but undeniable, that she felt it everywhere.

"And after that?" she asked, her voice softer.

Jalen's eyes flickered to her lips for just a split second before meeting her gaze again.

"After that," he said, "I'd make sure you knew you were the most beautiful woman in this house, and I'd make damn sure you felt like it."

Sydney's fingers lightly touched her collarbone, her nails grazing against her skin as she tried to steady herself.

Because holy shit. Greg had never said anything like that to her. She had been at this party for over an hour, standing next to her boyfriend the whole time, and yet Jalen was the first man to actually make her feel seen.

"Can we talk more on that patio?" Sydney said. "I could use the air."

Sydney didn't need air. She really just wanted to get away from Greg so that she and Jalen could talk more...unfiltered.

Jalen didn't hesitate. He finished his drink and set his glass down on the bar top, giving Sydney a knowing look before nodding.

"Yeah. Let's go."

Sydney glanced once at Greg, who was still completely oblivious, before turning on her Christian Louboutin pumps and leading the way, her heels clicking on the floor as she walked.

The mansion had a wraparound patio, beautifully lit with string lights and overlooking a spacious backyard with the pool and basketball court in view. A few guests were scattered about, laughing and talking in small groups, but Sydney led Jalen toward a more secluded corner, a space where the lights were dimmer, the voices quieter, and they could actually talk.

As soon as they reached the railing, Sydney exhaled, leaning against it slightly, her hands resting along the smooth wood. "Much better."

Jalen stood beside her, one hand in his pocket, the other resting casually on the railing as he looked at her. "You needed air, huh?"

Sydney smiled, shaking her head slightly. "That was just an excuse."

Jalen chuckled. "I figured."

A small breeze passed through, lifting a few strands of her blonde hair, but Sydney barely noticed. Her blue eyes were locked onto Jalen now, her expression more open, more curious.

"I liked what you said inside."

Jalen raised an eyebrow. "Yeah? Which part?"

Sydney exhaled softly, shifting so she was facing him more directly. "About how if you were my boyfriend, you wouldn't take your eyes off me."

Jalen met her gaze without flinching. "I meant it."

Sydney searched his face, as if trying to figure him out. "You don't even know me."

Jalen smiled. "Maybe not. But I know what I see."

Sydney felt something warm spread through her chest, something dangerous but thrilling. She didn't know why she was so comfortable talking to Jalen like this. She had never been the type to flirt like this with another man while she was with someone else, but something about Jalen made her feel like she could. Like she should.

She tilted her head slightly, eyes narrowing just a bit. "And what do you see?"

Jalen took a slow breath. His were eyes scanning her, not just in a physical way, though he certainly took her in. He took all of her in from the way her red dress hugged her curves to the way her lips parted slightly as she waited for his answer.

He saw a woman who was searching for something, a woman who had spent too long feeling unappreciated, and feeling like she was playing a role instead of being truly wanted. He leaned in slightly, his voice low, deliberate.

"I see a woman who deserves more than a man who doesn't know what he has."

Sydney's breath hitched again. It wasn't just the words. It was the way he said them, slow, intentional, and heavy with meaning. Jalen was seeing right through her.

She licked her lips, her fingers tightening on the railing as she forced out a small, breathy laugh. "You don't hold back, do you?"

Jalen shook his head. "Not really."

Sydney let that settle for a moment before exhaling, her gaze shifting toward the backyard, where more people were laughing by the pool.

"It's crazy," she muttered, almost to herself. "You and I don't even know each other, but this is the best conversation I've had in a long time."

Jalen turned his body toward her fully now. "That says a lot, doesn't it?"

Sydney bit the inside of her cheek. "Yeah. It does."

Silence stretched between them, thick and charged. Sydney could feel it now, the way her body was naturally leaning toward him and the way the air between them felt heavier.

She turned her eyes back to Jalen, her voice softer. "Tell me something else about you."

Jalen raised an eyebrow. "Like what?"

Sydney shrugged, her gaze flickering over his face. "Something personal. Something I wouldn't know just by looking at you."

Jalen exhaled, thinking for a moment before deciding to just be real. "I don't let a lot of people in."

Sydney blinked, caught off guard by the honesty. "Why?"

Jalen looked at her for a long moment before answering. "Because I've lost people, and I don't like the idea of getting close to someone just to have them leave."

Sydney felt something deepen between them. She turned toward him completely now, one hand lightly resting on the railing.

"I wouldn't have guessed that about you."

Jalen smiled slightly. "Yeah, I don't really talk about it much."

Sydney nodded, watching him closely. "But you told me."

Jalen met her gaze, his smirk fading into something more serious. "Yeah. I did."

A slow, lingering pause. Sydney didn't know if it was the alcohol, the night air, or just Jalen himself, but she could feel something shifting inside her.

She swallowed, her voice barely above a whisper. "You make it really hard to think straight, you know that?"

Jalen smiled again; this time more controlled and knowing. "I know."

Sydney exhaled a small laugh, shaking her head as she looked down for a second. She knew she shouldn't be doing this, but what felt right...was standing here with Jalen.

"I think...I think you and I... need to go dance." Sydney said.

Jalen raised an eyebrow, his lips curving. "Oh yeah?"

Sydney nodded, exhaling softly. "Yeah. I think we do."

Jalen glanced toward the house, then back at Sydney. "Your man's still in there talking about golf."

Sydney rolled her eyes playfully. "And I'm here talking to you."

Jalen chuckled, nodding as he pushed off the railing. "Alright then. Lead the way."

Sydney took his hand and turned, her red heels clicking against the wooden deck as she led Jalen back inside. They moved through the mansion, past clusters of people drinking, laughing.

Sydney descended the stairs, glancing over her shoulder just once seeing Jalen right behind her still holding her hand. She felt her heartbeat pick up. The basement was where the real party was. The dance floor was dimly lit, illuminated by blue and purple lights that flickered in sync with the bass of the music pumping through the speakers. The air was thick with heat, motion, and energy as people moved in sync to the rhythm. Sydney didn't hesitate when she reached the dance floor. She turned toward Jalen, her blue eyes glowing under the soft neon lights.

"You can dance, right?" she teased.

Jalen scoffed, stepping in closer. "I'll let you decide."

The beat suddenly shifted into something slow but heavy, a deep bass vibrating through the floor, the kind of song that forced people closer together. Sydney didn't shy away. She stepped into Jalen's space, turning her back to him, her body pressing lightly against his chest as she started to move. Jalen felt it immediately, the heat of her body and the way her curves fit against him so perfectly. His hands hovered near her waist, hesitant at first. Sydney, without a second thought, reached back and grabbed his hands, pulling them to her hips.

"Relax, Jalen," she murmured over her shoulder. "I don't bite."

Jalen let out a low chuckle, but the way she felt against him, made this situation dangerous.

Sydney moved with a slow, deliberate rhythm, pressing back against him, rolling her hips in sync with the beat. Jalen adjusted to her movements effortlessly, his hands gripping her just enough to feel her and guide her. His head dipped slightly, his lips hovering near her ear and neck. Sydney shivered. She had danced before, of course. With Greg and random guys at parties in the past, but never like this. Jalen smelled good, like bourbon and something smooth and clean. The way he held her, firm, but never forcing, made her stomach tighten in the best way possible. She let her head tilt slightly, exposing more of her neck, letting herself sink deeper into the moment.

Jalen felt it. He could see it in the way her fingers slid over his, how her body melted into his touch. His breath hitched as Sydney pressed back harder against him, her movements slow, sensual, and deliberate. Her round ass rolled against his crotch, moving in perfect rhythm with the heavy bass of the music.

She felt it then. The unmistakable evidence of his arousal and hard pressure growing against her, and God, she loved it. It wasn't just the feeling of him, thick and solid through his pants, it was what it meant.

He wanted her. A slow, wicked smile spread across her lips. Sydney tilted her head back, resting it lightly against Jalen's shoulder as she reached behind her, wrapping one arm around his neck. Her fingers found the back of his head and her nails grazed along his short-cut fade. Jalen let out a slow breath, his grip on her hips tightening slightly.

Sydney turned her face just enough to catch a glimpse of his expression. His jaw was clenched, his dark eyes were hooded, and his focus was entirely on her. She loved that she was the one making him feel like this.

Then she did something totally out of character for her and something that definitely crossed a line. With her free hand, she reached behind her, sliding it lower and lower until her palm found his crotch. She then began to rub it very deliberately. Jalen inhaled sharply, his body going rigid for half a second before relaxing again. Sydney felt all the heat, pressure, and size of him through his pants. She bit her lip, rolling her hips back even harder, her grip on him firm, teasing, and deliberate. She could feel that he was very long and girthy. She knew she shouldn't be doing this, but she also no longer cared about potential consequences.

Jalen was so damn tempted to take this even further. He wanted to turn her around, press her against the nearest wall and let his hands explore every inch of her, but they were still in view of a lot of people. Somewhere on the house was her boyfriend. Jalen partly couldn't believe that he hadn't ventured downstairs yet looking for her. It was clear that Sydney wasn't thinking about Greg, though. She was thinking about how good Jalen felt against her, how right this moment felt, and how she didn't want to stop.

Suddenly, Sydney leaned her head back far enough so that Jalen had access to her red lips. An unspoken invitation. A silent dare. Her fingers were still on him, still rubbing him through his pants, and now she was offering him her lips too. His breath was slow, controlled, but his pulse was anything but. Sydney didn't say a word. She didn't have to. She just waited, her eyes half-lidded, her lips slightly parted, her body completely pressed against his. Jalen let his grip tighten on her waist, steadying them both before he finally gave in.

He leaned in, closing the space between them. His lips brushed against hers, barely a kiss at first, just a test, just a tease. Sydney sighed softly against his mouth, her fingers slipping up into his hair, pulling him closer. That was all the confirmation Jalen needed. He captured her lips fully now, his mouth firm, warm, and claiming, his hands pressing against the curve of her waist, pulling her against him even more. Sydney melted into him, letting the kiss deepen, letting her tongue slip into his mouth. Her lips moved against his in perfect rhythm. Her hand on his crotch gave one last slow stroke, savoring the hardness she had caused before she finally pulled it away, reaching back instead to grab onto his neck. The heat between them was unreal. It wasn't just a kiss, it was a whole shift.

When they finally pulled apart, her breath was ragged, her cheeks flushed. Her blue eyes locked onto his, and for a moment, they just stared at each other, both knowing exactly what this meant.

Sydney's breath was hot against Jalen's ear when she whispered it. "I want you."

Jalen didn't need to hear anything else. He didn't respond with words. Instead, he reached down, grabbing her hand, his grip firm but unhurried. Sydney let him lead her, her heart pounding, her pulse racing with a mixture of excitement and raw, undeniable need. She didn't know how this happened. Or perhaps maybe she did. Maybe it had been building all night, from the first stolen glances to the way she felt when she realized he wanted her as much as she wanted him.

The house was huge, and Jalen knew there had to be empty guest rooms somewhere in the basement. They slipped off the dance floor, navigating the dimly lit hallway as the music thumped behind them. Sydney's heels clicked softly against the tile, her grip on Jalen's hand tightening as they moved quickly, their breathing uneven. Jalen pushed open a door, checking the room. Empty.

Perfect. As soon as the door clicked shut, Sydney turned and crashed into him, pressing her red lips to his with hungry, unrestrained need. Jalen caught her easily, his strong hands gripping her hips, pulling her flush against him. Sydney moaned against his mouth, her red lipstick smearing all over his lips, but neither of them gave a damn. If anything, it turned them on even more, the proof of their kiss written all over each other. Jalen's hands roamed lower, gripping the curve of her ass, pulling her against his hardness as their mouths moved together in a frenzied rhythm. Sydney's fingers slid into his short-cut fade, nails grazing his scalp as she tilted her head, deepening the kiss even more. Jalen groaned low in his throat, loving the way she felt. Then, after what felt like a breathless eternity, Sydney did something that made Jalen's body go tight with anticipation.

She reached for his belt. Her fingers were quick, practiced, unbuckling the leather strap before sliding down to unzip his pants. Jalen didn't stop her or say a word. He just watched, his breath heavy, his chest rising and falling as Sydney freed him, revealing his gargantuan cock. When his cock sprang free, her blue eyes widened.

"Oh my God."

Sydney's lips parted slightly as she took in just how big Jalen was. Her fingers instinctively wrapped around him, stroking slowly, almost reverently, as if she were still processing what she was holding. Jalen exhaled a deep breath, watching her reaction, the hunger in her eyes turning him on even more. Sydney bit her bottom lip, her red lipstick already smudged, but she didn't care. She didn't even think about stopping. She wanted him, and now she needed to feel him in her mouth.

Without another word, she slowly dropped to her knees, her hands still stroking him, slow and teasing at first before picking up pace. Jalen leaned back slightly against the bedroom door, his breath growing heavier and his jaw clenching as he watched her. Sydney looked up at him, her blue eyes filled with nothing but desire, her lips parting as she leaned in and pressed a soft, teasing kiss to the tip. Jalen groaned low in his throat.

Then... she licked him, slowly and deliberately, tracing the sensitive underside of his shaft, before finally taking him fully into her mouth. The warmth of her lips, the wetness of her tongue... it was perfect. Jalen hissed through his teeth, his fingers instinctively sliding into her blonde waves, gripping just enough to guide her and to encourage her. Sydney moaned softly against him, loving the way he filled her mouth, and the weight of him on her tongue. She wanted to please him and hear more of those deep, sexy groans that sent shivers through her spine.

She hollowed her cheeks, taking him deeper, bobbing her head at a steady rhythm, her nails digging lightly into his thighs as she lost herself in the act of pleasing him. A couple of times, she stopped and held him for a moment so that Jalen could feel the back of her throat before pulling him out and gathering herself before continuing her steady rhythm again. Jalen let out a low, breathless chuckle, his grip tightening slightly in her hair.

"Fuck, Sydney..." She hummed around him in response, the vibration making him grit his teeth and his abs tightening at the sensation. She was too damn good at this. The sight of her kneeling before him in that tight red dress with her lipstick leaving ringed shaped marks along the shaft of his cock was the one of if not the sexiest thing he'd ever experienced. It was almost too much. Jalen knew he wouldn't be able to hold back much longer, and from the way Sydney's movements became more eager and desperate, he could tell she didn't want him to. She wanted it all. Every last drop out of him. Jalen's breathing grew heavier, his grip in Sydney's hair tightening slightly as she worked him with pure, unfiltered desire. She was eager, completely lost in the act of pleasing him, with her lips sliding up and down his length with wet, deliberate movements. Both of her hands now followed the path of her mouth in a twisting motion, which only increased the pleasure surging through Jalen. Her blue eyes flickered up to meet his, and that was it. Jalen let out a deep, guttural groan, his body tensing as the pleasure overwhelmed him.

Sydney felt it the moment he reached his peak. His body tensed up and spasmed forward. A second later, his hot release filled her mouth, and she took it all, continuing to work him as his semen filled her mouth. She let out a satisfying moan as she did. She swallowed it all greedily, licking him clean, as if she didn't want to waste a single drop. Jalen exhaled sharply, his body still buzzing from the intensity of it all, his fingers easing their grip in her hair.

Sydney pulled back, her lips slightly swollen, her red lipstick even more smeared, looking up at him with a satisfied smile. She wiped the corner of her mouth with her thumb, licking it clean in the most seductive way possible.

Jalen let out a low, breathy laugh, shaking his head as he looked down at her. "Damn, Sydney."

She grinned, tilting her head. "Did I do good?" she teased.

Jalen smiled, reaching down to pull her up. "Yeah. But now it's your turn."

Sydney let out a small, surprised gasp as Jalen grabbed her by the waist, lifted her up carried her to the bed and playfully tossed her onto it so that she was on her back. Sydney giggled as she landed but she barely had time to process it because right after her back hit the mattress, Jalen's large hands reached inside of her dress, hiked it up so that it was now bunched around her waist, and pulled her red panties off. He tossed them aside and then gripped her thighs, spreading them apart as he lowered himself between them. Sydney's breath hitched again, while her heart pounded.

"Oh my God," she breathed, her legs trembling in anticipation.

Jalen smiled against the inside of her thigh before looking up at her.

"Relax, baby." He kissed her soft skin. "I'm going to take care of you."

Then, without another word, he did.

Sydney's shut her eyes. Her chest rose and fell rapidly as she lay sprawled across the mattress, her long legs trembling. Jalen was between them now, his large hands gripping her thighs, his breath warm against her soft, sensitive skin. Sydney could hardly believe this was happening. She wasn't supposed to be here. She wasn't supposed to be under this man, completely vulnerable, exposed, and completely desperate for what he was about to do to her. But she didn't care. She wanted this. She needed this.

Jalen trailed slow, teasing kisses along the soft skin, letting her feel the warmth of his lips, the light graze of his teeth. Sydney shivered, her fingers tightening in the bedsheets.

"Jalen..." she breathed.

He didn't respond with words. Instead, with his strong arms around her thighs, anchoring her down, he went in tongue first. The moment his tongue made contact with the flaps of her pussy, Sydney's back arched off the bed, a sharp gasp escaping her lips.

"Oh my God!"

Jalen worked her with slow, deliberate strokes, his mouth moving over her with a mixture of skill and hunger, as if he wanted to devour every inch of her. Sydney's fingers flew into his short-cut fade, gripping his hair tightly, pulling him in as if she needed him even closer.

"Ohhh... fuck, Jalen..."

Jalen groaned against her, the vibrations sending shocks of pleasure through her entire body. Sydney had never felt anything like this. Greg had never done this for her.

Jalen alternated between slow, torturous licks and deep, focused movements, his tongue flicking against her most sensitive spot, making her legs tremble around his shoulders. Sydney was already close, and Jalen knew it, but he wasn't about to let her go that easy. He slowed down, teasing her, pulling back just enough to make her whimper and make her hips jerk toward his mouth in desperation. Sydney was panting and losing control now. Her body reacted to every calculated movement and every expert flick of his tongue.

"Jalen... please..." she moaned.

Jalen smiled, gripping her thighs even tighter.

"That's what I wanted to hear."

Then, without warning, he sucked her clit into his mouth, his tongue swirling over the swollen nub, flicking and sucking with just the right amount of pressure. Sydney screamed. Her entire body locked up, her thighs squeezing around his head as the pleasure exploded inside her. It was too much. Too intense. Her orgasm hit her like a tidal wave, crashing over her in powerful, uncontrollable waves that had her toes curling, her fingers clawing at the sheets, her breath coming in sharp, ragged gasps.

"Oh my God!—FUUUUUUCK!—SHIIIII—"

She couldn't even finish the sentence, because just then a scream of ultimate pleasure came out of her. Jalen didn't stop. Not until he had wrung every last tremor out of her, his mouth still working her through every aftershock until she physically had to push him away. Her body was shaking, her legs weak, her chest rising and falling in breathless exhaustion. Jalen smiled, wiping his mouth, his dark eyes filled with nothing but satisfaction.

"Damn," he murmured, watching her. "You look good like that."

Sydney tried to catch her breath, her heart still racing and her body still tingling from the most intense orgasm of her life. She stared up at him, dazed, overwhelmed, completely ruined in the best way possible. Then, finally, she let out a breathy, exhausted laugh, shaking her head.

"Jalen... what the fuck did you just do to me?"

Jalen grinned, crawling up the bed until he was hovering over her, his mouth grazing her jawline, his voice low and confident.

"I took care of you."

Sydney shivered beneath him, still coming down, still buzzing from the aftershocks. Now..., she wanted more.

Without even needing to verbalize their desires, they both removed the rest of their clothes (except for Sydney's heels). Jalen took a moment to admire Sydney. Her body looked amazing, especially her large round breasts. She was in great shape and had very toned legs all the way to her thighs. She spread her legs while laying beneath Jalen, fully bare except for her red high-heeled pumps, her body flushed and trembling from the intensity of what he had just done to her. Jalen then positioned himself between them.

Sydney had never felt so exposed, vulnerable, and so desired. Jalen hovered over her, his broad shoulders blocking out the dim light of the guest room, his eyes dark, intense, completely locked onto her. Sydney's chest rose and fell rapidly, her breathing still uneven, her skin still tingling from the aftershocks of her last orgasm. She had never wanted anyone like this before.

Jalen's hands moved down the curves of her body, his calloused palms trailing over the smoothness of her skin, appreciating every inch of her. His eyes settled on her perfect, full breasts, her rosy nipples already tight, and he smiled.

"Damn, Sydney." His voice was low, husky, filled with pure desire. "You're fucking gorgeous."

Sydney bit her lip, a shiver running through her at the way he looked at her, like she was the only thing in the world that mattered. She spread her legs slowly, invitingly, her red heels digging into the mattress, her body completely open for him.

"Then come get me," she whispered.

Jalen inhaled deeply, his thick, heavy cock pressing against her, teasing her entrance, making her squirm beneath him. Sydney's breath hitched, anticipation coiling tight inside her. She shivered, wrapping her arms around his shoulders, pulling him down even closer.

"Please...fuck me, baby." She whispered

Jalen then gripped her thighs as he slowly began to push into her pussy, and in that moment, nothing else existed. Just them. Just this.

Jalen pressed inward, his thick, hard cock stretching Sydney in a way she had never felt before, more than she had thought possible. The moment he dug into her, a sharp gasp escaped her lips, and her blood red-painted acrylic nails dug into his shoulders.

"SHIT!" Sydney cried out, her head tilting back, her blonde waves sprawled across the bed and her body arched instinctively to take him in deeper.

Jalen groaned, gritting his teeth, feeling just how tight, warm, and how perfectly she wrapped around him. Her lipstick, smudged across his mouth and streaked down his cock, was a blatant mark of how deeply she had claimed him already. Now he was claiming her. Sydney's red high heels dug deeper into the mattress, her legs trembling as she struggled to adjust to his size, thickness, and the overwhelming sensation of being so completely filled. Jalen leaned down, his mouth finding her neck, kissing, sucking, leaving his own marks against her delicate skin.

"Damn, girl," he murmured against her pulse, his voice low and strained with control. "You feel so fucking good."

Sydney moaned, her fingers sliding up into his short hair, pulling him closer, needing more of him, all of him despite the pain of accommodating his cock. Jalen pressed deeper, his hands gripping her hips firmly, holding her in place as he buried himself inside her fully. Sydney screamed. It was too much. Too good. Her thighs continued to tremble around his waist while her lips parted in breathless pleasure, her eyes fluttering shut as her body molded to him and took him in completely.

Jalen wanted to take his time and savor every second of this, but the way Sydney clung to him, her nails raked across his back, and she gasped his name so desperately, it made holding back impossible. And as he drew back, only to press into her again, Sydney could only do one thing. Surrender.

Jalen gritted his teeth, his muscles tense as he fought against the raw, primal urge to take Sydney hard and fast. But no—not yet. She deserved more than that. She deserved to feel everything. So instead of slamming into her, he pulled back slowly, almost all the way out, letting Sydney feel the stretch, thickness, and sheer size of him. Her breath hitched hard, her nails dragging across his shoulders, her lips parting in pure, unfiltered pleasure. Then he pressed in again. Slowly, deeply, and unrelenting. Sydney cried out again, her back arching more, and her head pressing into the pillow as her body took him completely.

"Oh my God, Jalen..."

Jalen groaned at the sound of his name on her lips, raspy and desperate. He did it again. Pulling out so achingly slow, only to thrust back in just as deliberately, making sure she felt every single inch of him. Sydney's body trembled, her breath coming in short, needy gasps as he filled her over and over, stretching her, molding her, and making her his. She had never felt so completely overwhelmed by pleasure. This was something else. This was Jalen making her feel things she had never felt before. Sydney wrapped her arms around his broad shoulders, holding onto him like she needed him to keep from falling apart.

"You're so deep," she gasped, her voice high and breathless.

Jalen smiled against her neck, nipping at her skin, loving the way she was already coming undone beneath him. Sydney moaned louder, her nails digging into his back, her body completely surrendering to him. Jalen finally picked up the pace, still deep, still deliberate, but faster now, his thrusts hitting deeper and harder. Sydney's legs tightened around him, pulling him closer and deeper, as her pleasure built to an unbearable intensity. She was so close. Again. Jalen could feel it, and he wasn't stopping until he had her screaming his name.

Then he felt the way Sydney's body tightened around him, her breath hitching, her nails clawing down his back as she neared that edge once again. He didn't let up. He kept the rhythm steady, his deep, deliberate thrusts sending shockwaves of pleasure through her, making her lose all control. Sydney's mouth fell open, her body arching as the pressure inside her exploded all at once, sending her into a second, more intense orgasm.

"Ohhh, Jalen—shit, fuck, YEEEEEESSSSSSS!"

If anyone was outside the door, they would have heard Sydney's scream even over the loud music. Her thighs trembled violently, her entire body convulsing around him as she came, harder than the first time, her breathless screams echoing through the dimly lit guest room. Jalen groaned, gripping her hips tightly, feeling every pulse of her climax as she spasmed around him, milking him, pulling him deeper into the heat of her body, but as her orgasm slowly faded, Sydney did something that caught him off guard.

She wrapped her legs around his waist, locking her ankles behind his back, holding him in place before he could even think about stopping. Her blue eyes, glazed, wild, insatiable, stared up at him, her lips still red and smudged and her body still burning from the pleasure. Then, she whispered it.

"Don't stop."

Jalen exhaled sharply, his control hanging by a thread. Sydney reached up, cradling the back of his head, pulling his lips back to hers, kissing him hungrily, messily, her lipstick smearing across his mouth all over again.

"I need to feel you finish," she breathed against his lips. "I need you to cum inside me."

Jalen groaned into her mouth, his hands gripping her hips tighter, his movements growing rougher, deeper, harder. He was already on the edge, already so damn close, and Sydney wasn't letting go until she had everything he had to give her.

"You sure?" he rasped, his voice dark, strained with need.

Sydney nodded frantically, her blood red nails raking down his back, her lips brushing against his ear.

"Yes, please. I want it."

Jalen growled low in his throat, and that was it. That was all it took. His pace quickened, his thrusts deep and relentless, chasing the pleasure that was building, tightening, coiling deep inside him. Sydney moaned louder, loving the way he lost himself in her, the way his control was finally breaking.

Then... Jalen let go. His entire body tensed, his muscles flexing as he thrust deep one last time, his tip pulsating. His semen spilled inside her, hot and thick, coating her walls just like she wanted. It felt like a mini hose was spraying in there. Sydney shuddered, moaning softly at the sensation, her body soaking in every drop. Jalen groaned her name, his breath ragged, his forehead resting against hers as he rode out every pulse of pleasure until there was nothing left.

Silence filled the room except for their heavy breathing, their racing heartbeat, and the sound of their sweaty bodies still tangled together. Jalen finally opened his eyes, looking down at her, still inside her and still feeling the warmth of her body wrapped around him. Sydney stared back, dazed, spent, completely ruined in the best way possible. A small, breathless smile played on her lips.

"Holy shit."

Jalen chuckled lowly, shaking his head as he kissed her one last time.

"Yeah," he murmured, "Holy shit."

Jalen stayed buried deep inside her, his breath still heavy, his body still buzzing with the intensity of what they had just done. He had made sure to empty everything into her, and now, he could feel his cum dripping out of her, their mixed warmth seeping onto the sheets beneath her. Sydney shivered at the sensation, her body still aching, trembling, completely spent. She had never felt like this before. Never felt so satisfied, so taken, and so thoroughly claimed by a man. Her fingers traced lazy circles against Jalen's broad, sweat-slicked shoulders, her legs still loosely wrapped around his waist, keeping him close. Jalen's large hands ran over her thighs, up her sides, across the swell of her hips, his touch still gentle, lingering. Neither of them moved. Neither of them wanted to. Sydney sighed contentedly, nuzzling against Jalen's chest, letting her fingers dance across his skin.

"I don't want to go back," she admitted softly, her voice dreamy, spent, satisfied.

Jalen lifted his head slightly, looking down at her, his dark eyes calm, unreadable.

"Back where?"

Sydney bit her lip, glancing up at him through hooded, post-orgasmic eyes.

"To Greg."

Jalen smiled, trailing a lazy finger down her stomach, feeling the way she shivered beneath his touch.

"That right?"

Sydney nodded, her grip on him tightening.

"I want to stay here. With you."

Jalen exhaled, his smirk softening into something deeper, something knowing. He wasn't surprised. Not after what they had just done. He pressed a slow, deep kiss against her lips, now swollen from everything they had done tonight.

"Then stay," he murmured against her mouth.

Sydney's breath caught, her heart pounding at those simple words. Because she knew. This wasn't a mistake. She lay completely bare in the dimly lit guest room, her body still warm and tingling from everything Jalen had done to her. She could still feel him inside her, still feel his cum dripping between her thighs, still feel his strong, steady presence beside her. She wasn't leaving. She wasn't going back to Greg. Not ever. Reaching over to the nightstand, she grabbed her phone, quickly typing out a text to Greg:

Sydney: "Hey. I didn't feel good so I caught an Uber home. Don't worry about me." A lie, of course as she was still tangled up in bed with Jalen, her moist skin pressed against his, the heat between them still thick and lingering. Greg was probably still upstairs, drinking, laughing, talking about golf, completely unaware that his girlfriend had just given herself to another man in every possible way. Sydney set her phone down, exhaling softly as she turned her head to look at Jalen. He was watching her, his arm draped lazily over his stomach, his expression calm, unreadable.

"That your story?" he asked, nodding toward her phone.

Sydney smiled, rolling onto her side, trailing her fingers across his chest.

"Yeah. He won't think twice about it."

Jalen raised an eyebrow. "You sure about that?"

Sydney nodded. "Greg doesn't pay attention to anything unless it affects him directly."

Jalen chuckled, shaking his head. "That's wild."

Sydney bit her lip, her fingers tracing the outline of his muscles, admiring the way his skin felt under her touch. She felt no guilt. Just satisfaction. She wasn't Greg's girl anymore. Not after tonight. Tonight, she belonged to Jalen. He lay beside her, his arm resting casually behind his head, his body still buzzing from the intensity of what they had just done. Sydney, still naked, still glowing, still feeling the deep ache between her thighs, turned on her side, her fingers lazily tracing the muscles of his chest. Her blue eyes were softer now, filled with a mix of wonder, satisfaction, and something deeper.

"I didn't know sex could be that good," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "I've never had someone that deep inside me before."

Jalen smiled, his hand idly running down her spine, over the curve of her hip.

"Yeah?" he murmured.

Sydney nodded, her cheeks flushing slightly, but she didn't look away.

"It hurt," she continued, biting her lip. "But in a good way. It was amazing."

Jalen let out a low chuckle, genuinely flattered. Sydney had been completely wrecked by him, and she wasn't even trying to hide it.

"You took it like a boss," he teased, giving her hip a playful squeeze.

Sydney giggled, nuzzling closer, pressing a lazy kiss against his shoulder before looking up at him again. Her expression shifted then, becoming more thoughtful, more vulnerable.

"I know this whole thing is crazy," she murmured. "But no matter what happens after this, I'm really glad we had this night."

Jalen exhaled, studying her for a moment before nodding.

"Me too."

Because he knew. This wasn't just some random hookup. This was something bigger. Something neither of them fully understood yet, but for now, they didn't need to understand it. All they knew was that they had found something real tonight. Sydney lay tangled in the sheets, her body still aching, satisfied, and completely spent. Jalen was beside her, his body still warm and solid, his arm resting behind his head as he gazed at the ceiling.

"I think if my parents knew what I just did, they'd have a heart attack."

Jalen smiled, glancing down at her, running his fingers through her soft blonde waves. "Yeah?"

Sydney nodded. "They expect me to be with someone... safe. Predictable. Someone like Greg."

Jalen exhaled through his nose. "And you don't want that?"

Sydney was quiet for a moment before shaking her head.

"I used to think I did. Or maybe, I just thought I was supposed to."

Jalen studied her, his dark eyes unreadable. "And now?"

Sydney bit her lip, her fingers tightening slightly on his chest.

"I want to have something real and on my own terms. I'm tired of conforming my life to other's expectations."

Jalen nodded slowly. He understood that. More than she probably realized.

Sydney looked up at him, tilting her head slightly. "What about you? Did you always know you wanted to do what you do?"

Jalen exhaled, his expression shifting slightly, something more distant creeping in.

"Not really. But I had to figure things out fast."

Sydney waited, watching him carefully. After a moment, he spoke again.

"I mentioned before that my dad was killed when I was ten."

Sydney's heart clenched again.

"You mentioned he died but you didn't say he was killed..., Again, Jalen, ... I'm really sorry that happened."

Jalen shook his head. "It was a long time ago, but it changed everything. My mom had to raise me and my brother alone. I had to step up sooner than I was ready for."

Sydney was quiet, absorbing his words. She couldn't imagine what that must've been like. She had always had structure, always had parents guiding her, telling her what was expected, what her life should be. But Jalen had to become a man before he even had the chance to be a kid.

Sydney traced her fingers down his arm, her touch soft, gentle. "That must've been hard."

Jalen let out a small chuckle, though it was devoid of humor. "Yeah, but I didn't have a choice."

Sydney felt a deep wave of admiration for him. Jalen hadn't had life handed to him on a silver platter like Greg or the men her parents wanted for her. He had built himself up from nothing, and that made him so much more of a man than any of them could ever be. She lifted herself up slightly, brushing her lips softly against his jaw.

"You turned out pretty incredible."

Jalen smiled at her, shaking his head. "You're just saying that ‘cause I dicked you down good."

Sydney giggled, playfully smacking his chest.

"Okay, that's true, but also—" she leaned in closer, her voice softer, more sincere. "I mean it."

Jalen looked at her for a long moment. Then, finally, he nodded, pulling her back into his arms, holding her against his chest. For the first time all night, they weren't just talking. They were understanding each other. Sydney let out a soft, contented sigh, her bare skin pressed against Jalen's, her body still glowing from everything they had done. She had never felt like this before. Never felt so... complete.

Her fingers lazily traced along his chest, her breath warm and steady, completely relaxed in a way she didn't even know was possible. Jalen could feel the way her body melted into his, the way she trusted him completely in this moment, and the way her breathing slowed as she drifted into sleep.

A few minutes later, she was out, her head resting over his heart, her arm draped over his stomach, and her blonde hair spread across his skin like a golden veil. Jalen exhaled slowly, staring up at the ceiling, his mind nowhere near as calm as hers. He knew what this meant. What this had set in motion. This wasn't just sex. This wasn't just a mistake she'd regret in the morning. Sydney had chosen him. Not the life her parents wanted for her. Him. And whether she realized it or not, this was only the beginning.

Jalen knew what the Beyonder had told him. He had a mission. A prophecy to fulfill, and Sydney was the first piece of that puzzle. As much as he wanted to just enjoy this moment, to let himself sink into the warmth of her body, the softness of her touch, the peace she had found in his arms, he couldn't shake the reality of what had just happened. He had crossed the first threshold. There were still seven more women to come. Sydney had no idea. Jalen closed his eyes, exhaling slowly, trying to clear his mind. For now, he wouldn't think about it. For now, he'd just let her sleep.

*************************************

The next morning around 8:30 am, the guest room door creaked open, and Sydney stepped out first, her bare feet padding softly on the cold floor, her red heels dangling from her fingers. Jalen followed behind her, his shirt still unbuttoned, his belt slung loosely around his waist, his short beard still marked with faint traces of her lipstick. The house was a wreck. Empty cups, half-eaten plates of food, and the unmistakable scent of alcohol and sweat lingered in the air. People were sprawled out across couches, the floor, and even slumped against the walls, completely dead to the world after a long night of drinking and partying. And there, right on the couch near the entrance, was Greg. Sydney froze, her heart hammering for half a second, but Greg, was passed out cold, one arm draped over his face, a beer bottle still clutched in his other hand. Jalen exhaled through his nose, his lips curving into something close to amusement.

"Damn. Your boy is out."

Sydney let out a soft, breathless laugh, shaking her head as they carefully tiptoed past him. She should have felt guilty. She should have felt something, but as she glanced over at Greg, snoring away on a couch, looking completely clueless and indifferent... she realized she didn't. Not at all. Jalen pushed open the front door, and the cool morning air hit them, a stark contrast to the heat of the night before. The sky was a soft pale blue, the streets eerily quiet except for the occasional sound of a car passing by.

Sydney sighed, running a hand through her messy blonde hair, finally slipping her heels back onto her sore feet. Jalen stood beside her, hands in his pockets, his broad frame relaxed but his dark eyes watching her closely. She didn't want to leave. Didn't want this moment to end. But reality was waiting. Her phone buzzed.

Uber: "Your driver is arriving in 1 min."

Sydney swallowed, looking up at Jalen. They had just spent the most intense, passionate night of their lives together, and now they were just standing here, about to part ways like it was nothing. But it wasn't nothing. Not to her, and she had a feeling that it wasn't to him either.

"So," she said, hugging herself slightly. "I guess this is it?"

Jalen tilted his head slightly, his gaze unreadable. "For now."

Sydney licked her lips, nodding slowly. She wanted to say more. She wanted to ask him what this meant, what happens next, and if this was just a one-night thing or something more. But before she could, the Uber pulled up to the curb, the tires crunching against the pavement. Jalen stepped forward, opening the passenger door for her, his presence still lingering close, still warm, still steady. Sydney hesitated. Then, before she could second-guess herself, she leaned up on her toes and kissed him softly, not heated, not desperate, just... real. Jalen smiled slightly as she pulled away.

"Get home safely," he said softly.

Sydney swallowed, giving him one last lingering look before climbing into the car. As the door shut, she glanced out the window, watching as Jalen stood there, hands in his pockets, watching her leave. Her heart twisted in her chest. She wasn't done with him. Not even close, and something told her, this wasn't the last time she'd see Jalen Moss. She sat in the back of the Uber, staring out the window, replaying the night in her mind, feeling the lingering warmth of Jalen's touch still imprinted on her skin.

**************************************

About 38 hours later, Jalen had just finished brushing his teeth, standing shirtless in his dimly lit bedroom, stretching his sore muscles from the weekend. It was Sunday night, 11 PM, and he was finally about to call it a night. His bed looked more inviting than ever, but just as he was about to slip under the covers... A voice. That voice.

"Congratulations, Jalen. The first of the eight now bears your child."

Jalen froze. His body went still, his breath caught in his throat, his heartbeat suddenly thudding loud in his ears. The room around him was completely silent. No presence. No movement. Just the echo of the Beyonder's voice, lingering in the air. Jalen's jaw tensed, his fingers curling into the sheets as he sat on the edge of his bed, his mind racing. Sydney was pregnant. It had only been two nights ago, and it already happened. He exhaled slowly, rubbing a hand over his face, processing what this meant. This wasn't some distant prophecy anymore. This was real. It had already begun, and Sydney had no idea. Jalen sat there for a long moment, staring at the floor, his mind swirling with thoughts, questions, and emotions he couldn't even name. Then, finally, he let out a slow breath, closing his eyes. Seven more to go. This was only the beginning, and now he had to figure out what to do next.
