Prologue

"Hi..."

I killed the chat and thought about this petite Korean, a sweet little morsel, sexy as hell, but the way she talks, it is almost as if she didn't believe in herself. It made me sad, for she has that absolutely beautiful Asian look, lovingly slanted eyes and face that lights up when she smiles; definitely a great set of pearly whites. A woman with a heart of gold, a mouth of guttersnipe and a body to die for. And smart as a whip. Exactly my type.

But what really got to me was her lack of self-esteem, almost as if she were a battered woman. It really tugged at my protective nature. For all I know she has suffered some trauma earlier in her life, at the hands of one or more men. A shame really; I remember the first time I heard the statistic, that more than 75% of the women in America have suffered abuse, be it sexual, physical, emotional or verbal one or more times in their lives. These aren't the 'bad boys' who do this, these are immature, uninformed kids (at any age), idiots really, who have no clue as to what means to be a man. Men don't apply their power or strength over a woman, they use it to protect. But I digress...
