Matthew: “...”
Initially, Matthew didn’t know how to respond. He had just confessed how important their friendship was, yet Alex dismissed it entirely.
“What about our friendship?”
“To hell with it,” grumbled Alex.
Matthew: “...”
Once again, Matthew didn’t have a response for that either. He wasn’t sure why his best friend was behaving like this. Was Alex getting back at him for bringing up the whole kissing incident and cutting off any future possibilities?
“Alex, do you wanna talk about what’s bothering you?”
“Talk about what, that I’m destined to be single?”
“Dude, do you realize how great of a catch you are?”
“If I’m such a great catch … then why can’t I find someone like you?”
Matthew: “...”
Matthew wanted to console his best friend, but didn’t know what to say. After a period of time, he decided to try a different approach.
“Alex ….”
“What?”
“Do you wanna make out?”
Alex was confused. He looked up and stared at his friend for a full minute, trying to decipher if Matthew was being serious, before he nodded his head.
“Dude, I was testing you.”
“You fucker! I’m gonna beat you!”
Alex lunged at Matthew.
“Haha. But seriously, do you wanna kiss?”
Alex didn’t believe his friend was sincere, so held back. He also didn’t want to get his hopes up and be disappointed again.
“I know I said we should stay friends. I still want that, but I was thinking … before we cut off the possibility completely, do you wanna do something?”
“Matt, if you’re playing with me again, I swear ….”
“I’m not! I’m not suggesting we have sex either.”
“Then what are you suggesting?”
“Just to be clear, I don’t think I’m gay. I like girls too much. But I’m a bit curious about kissing another guy. Besides, since you’re my best friend, I thought you would be the safest person to explore with. Plus, we kissed before, except I freaked out last time, so it was a bit rushed.”
Alex was still incredulous. At the same time, he was curious about what could happen if he played along.
“Okay, but if you back out now … I’m gonna hurt you.”
Neither of them knew how to begin. The last time they kissed, it was by accident. This time, one of them had to make the first move.
Then, to Alex’s surprise, Matthew started to take his clothes off.
“What … are you doing?”
“Showing my sincerity.”
Alex: “...”
Alex wasn’t about to complain. He really didn’t mind seeing Matthew in his underwear.
“Dude, you look worried. If you wanna back out now, then it’s cool.”
“Just don’t take advantage of me,” warned Alex.
“Don’t worry, I won’t go overboard. No sex, just kissing. Five minutes max. We can stop anytime you want. Deal?”
Alex nodded. At the same time, he couldn’t take his eyes off of Matthew’s hot body.

THIRTY minutes later, they were still at it, making out like their lives depended on it.
Although Matthew wasn’t sexually aroused, he found it entertaining and was especially amused that Alex was so flustered by it. He thought that his best friend was really cute, trying his best to seduce him and get a reaction.
While they made out, Alex managed to get on top, straddling Matthew’s body with his knees on either side. Alex had bent down to kiss his friend. “Shut up and kiss me.”
Alex silenced Matthew with his lips. At the same time, Alex couldn’t get enough of it. He was really turned on.
“Alex, it’s been more than five minutes.”
“Why aren’t you hard!”
“Haha. What do you want me to do?”
“Get hard or get naked.”
“What?”
“You heard me.”
In response, Matthew wrestled Alex off. Then he got on top and pinned his best friend to the bed. But when Matthew looked down, he was momentarily taken aback. He saw Sara’s resemblance staring back at him. That was when he started making out with his best friend in earnest, kissing him with a renewed intensity that even surprised himself.
In his mind, Matthew was kissing Sara and, this time, he didn’t need to hold back. He closed his eyes and bit Alex’s lips, sucked on his tongue, and explored the insides of his mouth.
While they made out, Alex couldn’t help himself. He grabbed his friend’s crotch and felt the thick meat underneath the fabric. Although it was only semi-hard, it was massive and he couldn’t stop thinking about wanting to suck it. For Alex, sleeping in the same bed with Matthew was an act of pure self-restraint, especially given how little clothing his friend wore to bed. Although Matthew had stayed over many times before, it was different now.
Alex knew how it felt like to be with another man. And yet here he was lying in the same bed with the hottest guy he knew. Dirty thoughts crossed his mind, but his friend's last words reminded him of what he had with Matthew, which was much more valuable.
“Alex … are you awake?”
“Yeah.”
“There’s something I forgot to say and I wanna say it before I forget. You’re a great catch and some day, some lucky guy is gonna sweep you off your feet. And when that day comes, I get to be your best man. No one’s gonna take that spot away from me.”
Alex: “...”
“Alright, go back to sleep. I love you, buddy.”
“I love you too, Matt.”
