Chapter 23 – Repaying Madeline

Sara was dangerously attractive, but she was also Alex's sister. Her aggressive tactics were unstoppable. Yet Sara was not Matthew’s only problem. Jose was the other.

Matthew wished that his relationship with Jose had not turned out the way it did. He respected Jose, but now he didn't even feel comfortable going home.

When Matthew arrived at Madeline's estate, the butler brought him to the drawing room.

Madeline appeared moments later, accompanied by a well-dressed man who appeared to be 45 years old. He was in a custom fitted suit and was conversing with her in another language. However, when the man saw Matthew, he stopped in his tracks.

"Jacob, this is Matthew, one of my scholarship recipients. Matthew, this is Jacob Lyon, a good friend of mine and business partner."

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Lyon."

"Matthew, have you modeled before?" asked Mr. Lyon.

"Jacob is a well known fashion designer. He's always looking for new talent to showcase his designs," explained Madeline.

"I haven’t," replied Matthew.

"Here's my card in case you want to explore a career in modeling."

Mr. Lyon said his goodbyes to Madeline and wasn’t shy about taking another look at the kid before he left.

"I've worked with Jacob for many years. He specializes in female couture, but his trademark is pairing it on the runway with attractive young men.”

"He was openly checking me out."

"You should take it as a compliment. Jacob has good tastes in men. I’ve sampled a few of his models before."

"Are you busy?"

"Not at the moment. What’s on your mind?"

"I went for a drive and ended up here. I hope you don’t mind."

"Do you need money?"

Matthew shook his head.

“Madeline, how do you see me?”

"What do you mean?"

"Do you see me more as a man or a boy?"

"You have the sex appeal of a man, but the innocence of an adolescent."

Madeline didn’t quite understand what the kid was getting at, but she was glad that the teenager decided to drop by.

"You're not happy with my answer?" asked Madeline.

"I wish there was a way to show you my maturity?"

"I can think of a few ways ...."

"Not sex ... forget it, you wouldn't understand."
