Eventually, her and her husband patched things up, and he ended up moving back in, but I could tell that their relationship was never the same. I think it was more of a thing where she didn't want to be in an empty house after all the kids had moved out. I believe that's why she took him back. She continued to be super friendly, and even flirted at times, and I could tell that she was in a bit of a better place. Just like before, the opportunities to have some fun were there, but I never acted on them for some reason, even though I knew I could. That brings us to today.

I read the message that she had sent and then decided to give her a call. She answered, and the two of us spent the next half hour or so chatting, catching up, and then going over what she needed. When she lived here, she had done work for a real estate agency and was still in touch with the boss. Apparently, there was a beautiful house in town that was getting ready to go on the market, and they wanted her to be the realtor in charge. She was reaching out to me, because over the years, I had done a bunch of landscape work on previous properties that she had sold, and now she wanted me to spruce this home up for her. The problem was, it was mid-January, and there wasn't much I could do on the outside of the home because everything was frozen and covered in snow. We discussed a few things, and went over some ideas, before I agreed to look into it. Eventually we finished our conversation and hung up.

The following day, I headed over to the realtor office to meet with Patty’s boss. I discussed a few things with her and told her that Patty had reached out to me, to spruce up the house for the sale. She was happy and handed me the keys, telling me that I could go over anytime and check the place out. With that, I thanked her and headed to the house to see how it looked. Once I was there, I took a few pictures and got a few ideas, before heading back home and calling Patty. I told her what I had in mind, and we both agreed that it would probably be better to spruce up the inside a bit, since there wasn't much to do on the outside. We went over everything, and I agreed to start working on the place the following day.

From there, I spent the next couple of days buying some indoor plants and decorations, and getting the place set up for the pictures. Throughout the time, I stayed in touch with Patty and went over everything that I was doing. I even sent her pictures of my work, and she loved everything that was going on. If all went well, I would get a decent payday out of this.

Once I was done, the house went on the market and instantly started garnering attention. There were plenty of people interested in it and it wasn't long before a few offers were made. I guess it was a great offer, because it didn't take long for the house to be sold. Patty called me and let me know that the house was sold and thanked me for all the work that I had put into it. I was happy to have helped, and even happier that Patty was pleased with everything that I had done.
