Chapter Seven

It turned out that it was good Kay and Benjy decided to end their love-making when they did because, barely fifteen minutes after they got dressed, went down to the kitchen, and began making dinner, the men returned from their golf game. "I thought you guys said you were going to play two rounds," Kay said when her husband and his friends walked into the cabin. When she looked at Stu, she found herself struggling with conflicting emotions, the most disturbing being powerful feelings of guilt and shame. She felt her face growing warm, and was aware that her heart rate had increased. She hoped her husband wouldn't notice the signs of discomfiture she was sure she had to be showing and wonder why she looked upset. Her body was still tingling from the experiences she'd shared with Benjy, and she could almost feel his caresses on various parts of her anatomy. Those memories did little to help her feel comfortable in her husband's presence. She was surprised, too. Even though she was confronted with the reality of her marriage, she knew she was going to allow her affair with Benjy to continue, and her most serious problem now was how she would manage it with Stu and the others around. "You really are a sick woman," she told herself. She kept working on her dinner preparations, trying to keep herself ...
