Mark opened the door to find Amy standing on his front step looking more beautiful than he'd remembered from the pictures she had sent him. Her long light brown hair curled around her face and the sun glinted off her blonde highlights so that her face seemed to glow. She smiled warmly when she saw him and opened her arms to embrace him. He had been looking forward to meeting Amy for several months, almost since the day they began chatting over the internet. She had impressed him with her ability to express herself in words and with her quick wit when they chatted. Now as she pressed herself against him and his arms encircled her waist, he remembered how they had chatted for 4 hours straight the first night they met. They had talked about their jobs and families and future plans, and before saying goodnight they exchanged pictures. Mark closed his eyes as he inhaled the scent of Amy's hair against his cheek. In his mind, he could see that first picture she had sent him. She was sitting on a bench in the bright sunlight with her arm slung around her Golden Retriever. She was wearing denim shorts that showed off her tan legs and a white tank top with her hair pulled back in a ponytail. He remembered how he hoped to someday meet her in person. Now as he stepped back from their embrace to look at her again, he wondered what she was thinking.
