REVENGE

It had been several months. I had taken a job out of town, way out of town in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. At first my wife did not want me to go, but suddenly agreed with my decision. It was planned that she would follow later after issues with the kids, grandkids, and her business were resolved. Unfortunately it seemed that something always came up. I was making a good salary, enough to support both locations, but there was always a need for more money back home. As a result, it took me some time to save up enough money to return for a visit. I stayed in touch with my wife through the telephone and e-mail. At this time we were approaching our twenty-first anniversary and I had managed to get both the money and time off to return home. Neither my wife nor I are models and both of us could use losing a couple of pounds, but I consider her quite desirable.

Obviously, I was looking forward to getting home. At the last minute I was able to pull a couple strings and got earlier connections that would put me back home around midnight instead of noon the next day. The changes occurred at the last minute and I was not able to call home about it before leaving and all my connecting flights just gave me time to change planes. On the last connection I ran into some people who only lived a few blocks from my house. They offered me a ride, so I decided to surprise the family.
