The Seminar Story; a story of forgotten passion

He could never figure out why his company kept sending him to these management seminars. His team was running like clockwork, absenteeism was down, and every one in his division seemed happy. Maybe the top management thought that some how; these seminars were the key to the South Florida division's quick rise to the top. "Naw", he thought to his self, "that is what they hired me for in the first place". He had made a name for himself at Motorola, turning a troubled manufacturing plant around. That opportunity had become an invitation from tech companies through out the United States. They all seemed to be having management problems. He liked his job at IBM, "it's been a great two years" he thought. He liked to arrive early at these things, to sit back and watch the "wannabe corporate studs" walk by. He thought they were funny, in their "corporate look of the day", sporting brightly colored ties to help then stand out from the other wannabes.

He had gone to a small college in Jacksonville, Florida. Jacksonville University had only 2500 students' back in the early 80's. In the past 15 years or so, he had heard that it had grown to almost 4000. He never missed those days, "too much work" he muttered under his breath. He had finished three years of college before he had had enough. After college he took a job managing a convenience store, which turned into managing several.
