I was just trudging down the corridor towards the Human Resource Departmental Office where I work, when I heard someone coming up behind me rather quickly. “Happy Birthday mate!” I turned around to see my work colleague and friend Rob, grinning at me from ear to ear. “Cheers mate,” I replied reaching out to shake his outstretched hand. “Listen,” Rob said, “what are you doing at lunchtime?” “Nothing planned,” I replied, “why?” “Oh no reason, just wondered if you fancied meeting up for lunch, that’s all?” He asked. “Yeah sure, no worries,” I replied, “Outside the main entrance say 12:30?” I said. “That’ll be great. It’ll just give me time to get these bastard accounts done!” Rob replied, as he walked off in the direction of the Finance Department. I laughed and shook my head at his desire and commitment for the job. I hadn’t worked for the company very long and had landed a job there straight after University, but I seemed to fit into the swing of things pretty quickly and learned how to perform my job well without getting too much attention from Senior Management, which was good.

I got to my office, sat down at my desk and knocked on my desktop. I grabbed myself a cup of tea while I was waiting for the machine to ‘boot-up’ so that I could check my emails.
