This is based on a true story. It happened to me about 3 years ago. I was 50 years young. ____________________________________________________

About 6 months after my wife died in 1997, i decided to get me a puppy to help fill my time. I reasoned that i was not ready to get involved with the world of dating and a puppy would give me company. I named my puppy alli and as time went by we became almost inseperable, with her sleeping on my bed at night and if i went anywhere in the house she was by my side.

I had Alli probably 8 months when my job changed, causing me to have to travel at times. This presented a problem as in what to do with Alli when i was gone, so i went in search of answers and found that i could board her with my vet. After doing this a few times i began to notice that Alli seemed depressed and hated to go to the vet and when i got her home after such a visit....she was hungry. I called the vet and made an appointment for Alli. I found out that when i would leave Alli with them, she did not eat and got very nervous. I asked for any ideas on how we could overcome her problem and kathy the receptionist told me that i might try a dog sitter.
