The night was perfect. The sky was full of stars, there was a gentle breeze and the fresh smell of spring was in the air. Susan couldn’t help but notice the perfect evening, as she got ready for her date with Allen. They had been on a few dates before, but Susan was determined to make this night, a night to remember. As she slowly brushed her hair she couldn’t help but to think back to how it all started.

How could she even forget it? It was almost the end of her Junior year of high school. Her dad came home and announced at the dinner table that he had good news and bad news. He told everyone the good news first; he had gotten a promotion. Then came the bad news. They were going to have to move that summer, since he had been transferred due to the promotion. Susan was so angry, mainly because it meant leaving her boyfriend, also because she didn’t want to leave her childhood friends. She didn’t have to worry about leaving her best friend, Crystal. Crystal had lived with Susan and her family since 6th grade. Susan knew Crystal was moving with them.

That summer, once they were settled in the new house, Susan and Crystal went shopping. Susan was quickly over her boyfriend when she laid eyes on Allen in the mall. He was tall, tan, and to die for. His hair was a light brown with hints of blonde, and his eyes were blue. But his smile, oh, that smile was one that could make any girl melt. It wasn’t until the school year when Susan found out who he was.
