UNSTATIONARY STATIONERY

"Okay, Sandra, let's get this place open and start another exciting day."

"Right, Mike," Sandra goes over to the front door of their shop and undoes the locks and bolts, pulls the door back and jams it open with a door wedge. A blast of fresh air hits her face as she opens up.

Mike and Sandra have been running a successful stationery shop for a couple of years, both of them serving behind the counter, but Sandra's main task is doing the book-keeping, while Mike does any word processing that customers require.

"How was your weekend?"

"Oh," Sandra replies "Not too bad. Dave and I didn't do a lot, just a quiet weekend in really. You?"

"Well, it was okay, nothing special. Came in and caught up with the Travis work, so that is ready for him to pick up today." Mike had lost his wife a year ago and he was still finding it difficult to adjust to living by himself, he often spent the weekends in the shop catching up with work, or doing general paperwork, etc.
