Back in the summer a young couple with 3 elementary school age daughters bought the house across the street from us.

I spoke to Jen (the mom/wife) a couple of times while doing lawn work, basicaly just yelling across the street.

School started, and my grandaughters come to my house to go to school, we live close, and their parents leave early for work. Its a convience for them, and we like having the grandkids over.

Every morning I walk the grandaughters the short walk to school, Jen and her brood wait at the door with us, and we would have a casual conversation, then head to our resepctive homes as soon as the girls were safely inside the building.

In the afternoon I pick the girls up, again Jen is usually there. One afternoon, my oldest grandaughter wanted to go to Jen's house to play with her daughter. We approached Jen, and she infromed us that she was taking the kids to the county park, and we were more than welcome to come along. How could I refuse with all these little girls screaming that they wanted to go to the park.

We met Jen and crew at the park, along with several MOM's that Jen seemed to know well. All the MOM's sat on a bench talking, while Pop-pop pushed kids on swings, helped them on slides, the parrel ...
