Next! Huckleberry has 40 stories currently posted on the site that fall into many different catorgories. Read on to learn more about him...

Tell us about you:

Question: First tell us something about yourself, like name, age, and some other things we would like to know about you...Let’s call it a short bio.

Huckleberry: : My real name is Mark. I’m 37, and I live in Yorkshire, England. I’m a Finance Director and part-owner of the business where I work. I drive about in a small, green sports car which has neither roof nor doors. Sometimes I get wet.

I love opera, and I mean love. I have shelf loads of classical music cds. I like malt whisky too. At the moment I have a third share in three barrels that are slowly maturing on the Isle of Islay off the west coast of Scotland.

Question: What are you wearing right now?

Huckleberry: Well, I’m at work, but we dress casually, so a shirt and jeans. Oh, and a pair of cowboy boots. I’ve worn boots as long as I can remember. My brother-in-law lives in Dallas, so I get him to send them over when I need a new pair.

Question: Does your spouse or significant other know you write, and if so, what does he/she think?

Huckleberry: Yes, she does. It amuses her. She professes not to enjoy reading them, but I’ve noticed that she’s quite happy to tell her mates that I do it. Recently, she’s also written the odd story too, which I find pleasing.

Question: Is it difficult for you to keep your writing life separate from your professional life?

Huckleberry: Not at all. I tend to write in the evenings after the kids have gone to bed!

Question: How did you come up with your ES nickname?

Huckleberry: Bad pun, I’m afraid. My MSN nickname is fincon1, short for Financial Controller. Everyone I met online called me Fin, so when I needed a new nickname, there it was. Huckleberry Fin.

Question: What brought you to EroticStories.com? What made you want to stay and become a part of it?

Huckleberry: What brought me here? The desire to read cracking stories about sex, of course! Is there another reason? I stay because I still enjoy the stories. Some of the pictures that Art puts in are pretty good too.

I joined as an author back when Art introduced the fanclub. I wanted to keep my free access, and I already had a story written, so it was a simple matter to submit it and hope for the best.

Also, as an author, I get more feedback from this site than anywhere else I’ve tried, and that’s really important to me. I must say, there’s little better than receiving an email from a woman I’ve never met, telling me how turned on she got reading one of my stories. Some of them go into quite graphic detail, which in turn turns me on and inspires me to write more!

Question: What is your favorite part of your body? Why?

Huckleberry: My mind. Everything else is average.

Question: If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be and why?

Huckleberry: I’ve always wondered what it would be like to be a handsome devil.

Question: Boxers v Briefs? / Panties v Thong?

Huckleberry: I hate boxers. No support. So it’ll have to be briefs, I’m afraid. I’ve always wished that you could get bloke’s pants made out of that lovely silky material that they use for ladies’ underwear. I’ve never worn my wife’s though. It’s much too small. Or at least, I think it is. Because I’ve never tried. Ahem. Next question please!

Writing Habits:

Question: What do you like the most about writing erotic stories?

Huckleberry: It lets me do things in my imagination that I could not or would not do in real life. I write primarily to please myself. If other people enjoy my stories, then that’s a bonus.

Question: How long have you been writing now? How did it all get started and what made you write your first story?

Huckleberry: Nearly five years. It started when I was away on business. Business travel is highly overrated. You spend most of your time away from friends and family, alone in a strange hotel. Have you ever eaten alone in a restaurant? It sucks! I was bored. There was nothing on television and the hotel didn’t have pay-per-view porn so I decided to write my own. ‘Hanging Around’ was the wildest thing I could think of.

Question: Which of your stories is your personal favorite, the one you enjoyed writing the most, and/or the one holds the best memories or feelings for you?

Huckleberry: My personal favourite is always the most recent one I’ve written. The ones I enjoyed the most are the overtly funny ones, such as the fairy tales. Sex can and should be fun. I’m writing a series at the moment called ‘Nightgirl’, about a college student who decides that she wants to become a superheroine. She’s completely inept, so keeps getting into scrapes, but she’s really enjoyable to write about.

I’ve also long had a soft spot for Paige, who is one of the guards in the bondage club featured in several of my stories. She’s one of my favourite creations. Ages ago I found a picture online which was exactly how I imagined her. I’ve since lost it, sadly.

Several have really good memories. ‘Hanging Around’, because it was the first one I wrote. ‘The Honourable Member’, because it was the first one I got paid for. The ‘Fantasy’ series and ‘Monique’, because I discussed them with female online friends for a long time before I wrote them. Research can be fun…

Oh, and I must just mention ‘Whodunit?’, which you can find under the author name CKandHuck. I wrote that with Chocolate Kisses, another author on here, and it was an absolute hoot. She’s great fun and we had a really good time with that story.

Question: Have you ever gotten so turned on while writing that you had to stop to masturbate? What story was it?

Huckleberry: No. Though often I’ll do so after I’ve finish writing them. As I said earlier, I write to please myself. That means that if what I’ve written doesn’t turn me on in some way, then I’ve failed.

Question: Do you write from fantasy or true stories or a combination of both? Please explain or give an example.

Huckleberry: Mostly fantasy, I’m afraid. Especially when it came to the fairy tales. I did write two that were based on real life events, though. ‘Don’t Wake The Kids’ and ‘Lap Dancer’ were both true pretty much up until the sex. I made the rest up.

Often, I’ll get an idea from a simple event. ‘Triptych’, for example, was written after I saw an attractive women on her front doorstep, wearing a dressing gown, while I was on my way to work. ‘A Little Extra’ came from a visit to a health spa and a nice, relaxing massage.

‘Monique’ was written for a lovely woman who wrote after reading another of my stories. We exchanged emails for a while, and I created a fantasy where she’d come to visit me. She sent me her picture too. Though it’s been a while since we last spoke, I kept the photo.

It’s one of the reasons I like to get feedback. That gives me ideas too. If anyone wants to know where a particular story came from, or how much is real, they’ve only to ask! I do try to respond to all the feedback I receive.

Question: Are the characters in your story based on real people, did you make them up, or are they a combination of both?

Huckleberry: Ah well, that’s the question, isn’t it. It’s a mixture. Some of them, particularly in the two stories most based on real life, are very much based on real people, though I always change the names and physical descriptions.

Some of the characters in the ‘Office’ and ‘Fantasy’ series were very loosely based on people that I knew at the time. ‘I’ll Show You Mine’ featured a very cute secretary that I was working with. ‘Life Class’ started with me reminiscing about my college years. In that story, the character Claire most closely resembles my wife in the way she talks.

The rest are pure fantasy.

Question: What parts of "Yourself" do you put into your characters?

Huckleberry: Hehehe. Quite a lot. When you read a story in which the male character has the initial ‘M’. then you know it’s me. I’m always more good-looking in my stories, though.

Question: : If there was one trait you could take from one of your characters in your stories, and put it in place in your real life, what would it be and why?

Huckleberry: Huckleberry: You know, I’m not sure I’d want any extra traits. I’m not perfect, but I am happy. I’d like Q’s yellow Ferrari, though, from ‘Hostess Bound’.

Question: How long does it take for you to write a complete story? How does the process go?

Huckleberry: That varies hugely. I tend to write in my head. Getting it down on paper (well, okay, onscreen) is the last thing I do. Often the thought process takes a very long time. Other times, it can be very fast. I wrote a story earlier this year, the first ‘Nightgirl’ story, which only took two days from start to finish. The lead character was so much fun, she practically wrote herself. That’s rare, though.

Question: How do you come up with your story titles?

Huckleberry: I’m afraid I usually try to think of an atrocious play on words. Something that’ll really make you groan. I hate thinking of titles. It’s sometimes the hardest part of writing!

Question: What is the hardest part of writing a story?

Huckleberry: Ha! See my previous answer. The other thing, of course, is thinking of new ideas. Once I get an idea, I can usually run with it, but I can go months without a single one coming to me.

Question: Have you ever done research for a part of a story you didn’t have any knowledge about or maybe for a sex scene?

Huckleberry: I do that more often these days. For example, when it came to ‘The Honourable Member’ and its sequels, I did quite a lot of research on the House of Commons and Number 10, Downing Street. Other times, especially in my earlier work, I just wing it and hope that it all hangs together somehow.

Question: Do you have any secret stories you don’t want to publish for the public? Do you publish your stories on other sites besides EroticStories.com and if so, why? Have you ever been published on paper?

Huckleberry: No, everything I’ve written has appeared or is about to appear online somewhere. Most of my recent work has appeared on a site called Ruthie’s Club, for the simple reason that they pay me. That’s where Nightgirl is at the moment. Also, they have a stable of artists, and each of my stories gets a custom illustration to accompany it. That’s the best part of it. ‘The Honourable Member’ first appeared there, under the author name H.L. Berry. They get exclusive rights for six months, after which the stories are mine to do what I like with. Most of them will probably come here in time. The money is nice, but I get no feedback at all, and in many ways the feedback is more rewarding.

‘One Bar Prison’ was first published on paper, in a small British magazine called ‘The Hot Spot’. I got paid for that too, along with a free copy of the magazine. I keep it on one of my bookshelves at home, where anyone could find it, if they were looking hard!

Question: When you receive negative comments do you just ignore them, build from them, or let it put a negative image over the story itself, and let it hinder your writing?

Huckleberry: I’ve been very lucky to receive very, very few negative remarks. People are entitled to their opinion, but I’d never let it affect the way I viewed a story or hinder me. I found a critique group for erotic writers a while ago, and that teaches you a lot about how to handle criticism. You have to have a thick skin, but it can really help you learn.

The only ones I really object to are the people who are just plain dumb. When I write a story about a slut wife, and post it in the slut wife category, then don’t come whining to me because you don’t like the content. I’ll just ignore you.

Reading Habits:

Question: Do you also enjoy reading erotic stories? Which categories do you enjoy the most? Do you like true stories or fantasies?

Huckleberry: Yes, very much. I’ve always liked the idea of bondage, so I guess those are the ones I read most. Truth or fantasy? I couldn’t say. I’ve never read a ‘true story’ that I am convinced was 100% true, though some supposed fantasies have made me wonder…

Question: Do you vote on other author's stories? How do you decide what score to give when you do?

Huckleberry: Yes, sometimes. My score is dependent on several things. How erotic did I find the story? Was it well written? Grammatically correct? I don’t often give really low marks, because if a story is that bad, I’ll usually quit reading before I get to the voting buttons.

Question: Do you send other author’s comments or feedback on their stories?

Huckleberry: Less often than I should do. If you get feedback from me then you’ll know that I’ve really enjoyed your story.

Question: Do you have a favorite author on ES? What makes them your favorite?

Huckleberry: I couldn’t pick one particular favourite there are so many with a lot of talent. There are several who, if they are not already getting paid for their work, ought to be. The best ones are the ones whose writing doesn’t jolt me in other words, they have a natural flow, a talent with words, and, most important of all, they use a spell checker.

Question: When you read a story do you: A. Touch yourself and come around the same time one of the characters do? B. Touch yourself but wait for the end to come? C. Touch yourself but wait until after you finish the story to come, such as after going to bed? D. Not touch yourself until you are finished and then continue thinking about the story and come? E. Any other variation you may do? (Please tell us what it is)

Huckleberry: Most often, C or D.

Sex Habits:

Question: Do you enjoy the visual side of erotica, as in porn movies or pictures? If so, do you have any favorites?

Huckleberry: Yes, very much. My favourite movie was probably ‘The Fashionistas’. There was a lot of variety in there. I’ve seen some highly interesting pictures and clips from a website called the House of Gord.

Question: Do you remember the first pornography you ever saw? Tell us about it?

Huckleberry: God yes! It was a really poor quality video that my brother lent me. The first scene was these two well-endowed black guys doing a double penetration of a white woman. It was quite an eye-opener. The dialogue was absolutely appalling, really cheesy. I remember that as much as the sex.

Question: Have you ever participated in erotic photography? If so, please tell us about it. If not, would you rather be the photographed or the photographer?

Huckleberry: Nope. I don’t think I’d make a very good erotic photographer. My hands would shake too much!

Question: What do you wear to bed?

Huckleberry: Nothing at all. It’s the old joke, though. My birthday suit could do with an iron.

Question: Do your sex life and writing have any correlation with each other??

Huckleberry: Not really, no. I have a pretty good sex life with my wife.

Question: How would you rate your willingness to try new things in bed?

Huckleberry: High. I’ll try anything once. She takes a little more persuasion!

Question: What’s the kinkiest thing you have done in your life?

Huckleberry: Anal sex. Most enjoyable.

Question:Do you have anyfantasies that you would like to fulfil?

Huckleberry: Read my stories! They’re all in there somewhere and most have yet to be fulfilled!

Question: What is your opinion about sex toys? Do you have any toys yourself and if so, do you like to use them?

Huckleberry: I think they have their place. We have a couple, but to be honest they rarely see the light of day. The real thing is much more fun.

Question: What do you think about solo sex?

Huckleberry: It’s great, isn’t it? Sex with the person you love most. Hahaha.

Question: What are your favourite; and least favourite positions?

Huckleberry: I like to spoon. It’s the most intimate position, I think, and lets me use my hands. A lot.

How can you ask me to pick a least favourite? They’re all fantastic, really. If you were to twist my arm, I’d say sixty-nine, because it’s hard to enjoy oral sex when you’re concentrating on giving it. That said, I’m never likely to turn the opportunity down.

Question: Do you believe in one night stands?

Huckleberry: I believe they happen, yes. Not to me, though.

Question: What makes someone sexy to you?

Huckleberry: Intelligence. A smile. Nice eyes. Anything else is a bonus.

Question: What is a major turn on for you during sex?

Huckleberry: Her using her hands. The feel of skin against skin. Her pleasurable moans.

Question: What is a major turn off for you during sex?

Huckleberry: The kids knocking on our bedroom door. Or, as once happened, our cat leaping up onto my bottom and sinking his claws in so he didn’t fall off.

Question: Sex-talk. Do you like or dislike talking during sex?

Huckleberry: I’m not really that bothered either way, unless it’s really clichéd talk, in which case I’d rather not hear it!

Question: In bed or on the kitchen table?

Huckleberry: Bed. We don’t have a kitchen table.

Question: What is your favourite or most memorable moment in bed?

Huckleberry: Golly. There’ve been so many. My first time, which was also my first time with my wife stands out, of course. Actually, several of the most memorable haven’t been in bed at all! There was that time in the grounds of our college, the local playground late at night, the front seat of my first car, on the floor of some friends’ bedroom while they slept, the beach in Greece…

And Last but not least...

Question: You are #95 on the “Top 100 favourite authors” list. How does it feel to know you have 61 people that have favorited you? **

Huckleberry: Brilliant! I hope they keep enjoying my work. That said, I do worry that someone who likes one of my stories will hate some of the others, because they are so different.

Question: You are #85 on the "Top 100 best scoring authors with more than 5 stories online, and an average vote higher than 9.0" lists with an average vote of 9.03. How does it feel make the list.? **

Huckleberry: Brilliant again! The voting and the feedback are the best thing about putting stories on this site. High scores and good feedback are what keep me writing.

Question: Is there anybody on this site, who you would like to see interviewed? Why?

Huckleberry: I’m sure that almost any of the authors on here would have something interesting to say. I’d love to know more about Art, too…

Question: Do you notice any differences between the "younger" writers on here, and between the "older writers" of this site?

Huckleberry: I don’t like sweeping generalisations, and I don’t tend to look at the authors’ ages either. I’m more interested in their sex and location. That’d be a ‘no’, then.

Question: Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers of this interview and your fans? Now is your chance...

Huckleberry: Go and read some of my stories! Right now!

Seriously, though, we don’t get paid for putting our stories here. Like I said, we are looking for other rewards. So, if you read a story and you enjoyed it, give it a good vote to let the author know. Better yet, take a few seconds to drop him or her a line and tell them why. You’ve no idea how much it means to get an encouraging remark.

Oh, and if anyone could put me in touch with a discreet dominatrix in Yorkshire, I’d be most grateful!

** Please note the statistics noted were current at the time of this interview was done in May. Statistics can change daily, even hourly, so these may not be the exact numbers that you will find on the site when you read this interview.
