My next candidate for an interview needs no introduction. Lydia sits 11th on the favourite list and rightly so, For those of you who haven't read her stories or been on the end of her charm and sparkling wit on the forum, now's your chance to sit back and find out more about this really exceptional author.....Enjoy.

Shuggie: Thanks Lydia for taking the time to do this interview, as ever I am going to jump straight in and get started!

Shuggie: First tell us something about yourself, like name, age, and some other things we would like to know about you...Let’s call it a short bio.

Lydia: My name is Lydia and I am not exactly the age shown on my profile, I am a few years older (very late 20’s). I enjoy reading spy novels, watching the New England Patriots, and the Boston Red Sox. And, yes, I am sad about Tom Brady’s injury. I am multi-orgasmic; I give great head; I am bi-sexual or as Chrissie would say, ambisextrous. I have very small breasts but they are really sensitive.

Shuggie: What are you wearing right now?

Lydia: My normal “sit at the computer” outfit is either a tank top and boxers or a sports bra and boxers. Today it is the sports bra; a very sexy battleship grey color.

Shuggie: What do you like the most about writing erotic stories?

Lydia: That’s a good question. I think it is a combination of getting to turn my fantasies and experiences into the written form as well as the thought that my words are getting other people aroused. Although it is also hard to ignore the rip-roaring orgasms I get while writing them.

Shuggie: Does your spouse or significant other know you write, and if so, what does he/she think?

Lydia: I have not been real good at monogamous relationships and so there is no current ‘significant other’. It is not something I hide from friends and I don’t think I’d have any reason to hide it from a partner.

Shuggie: Is it difficult for you to keep your writing life separate from your professional life?

Lydia: You know, I have seen you ask this question to a number of authors and I wonder if you intend it as written. I have no difficulty keeping my writing separate from my professional life as there is no overlap and were the folks I work with/for to find out it wouldn’t impact my employment. Now, if you change the question from ‘professional’ to ‘personal’, then that is a horse of a different color. Since so many of my friends and lovers are aware of my writing, I often find people looking for themselves in my stories or suggesting ideas from their lives to add spice to my stories. As a matter of fact, I have a few stories in the MM categories and those have all been based on events that were told to me by gay, male friends. They like that I can take their anecdotes and weave them into a cogent piece of writing.

Shuggie: How did you come up with your ES nickname?

Lydia: I didn’t, my parents did.

Shuggie: What brought you to EroticStories.com? What made you want to stay and become a part of it?

Lydia: Wow, I posted my first story on ES in 2003. I like to masturbate a lot (I should be blushing but somehow I feel like this is not uncommon for the contributors or the readers of the site). And, I like both erotic writing and erotic films. I was surfing the net and stumbled on the site. The moment I started reading and masturbating to the stories I knew I had to contribute.

Shuggie: You’ve posted a picture on your profile, firstly is it really you? And if so how do you feel knowing that thousands of guys and gals may look at your picture and fantasise about you? And do you have any more pictures you might share?

Lydia: Yes, it is me in the picture; although in the interest of full disclosure I need to clarify a couple of things. First, it is about 4 years old. Second, a professional photographer did it. Third, a professional did all my hair, makeup, eyebrows, etc. The truth of the matter is that if you saw me walking down the street in my jeans and tank, you probably wouldn’t recognize me. I think it is embarrassing to have people send me emails that say, “hot body, got more pics?” On the other hand, I feel sexy when I look at the picture and I think it helps people visualize me when they are fantasizing about me. As for the ‘more pictures’ part of your question, I only have the silly vacation ones and what not. I really am not too excited to have sexy photos of me all over the internet.

Shuggie: What is your favorite part of your body? Why?

Lydia: What a great question? I’d have to say my tongue. I think more than any other part of my body it helps me connect with a lover. For instance, consider the kiss and how your tongue makes the first entry. My tongue can be used to arouse and stimulate my lovers in so many ways I can’t even count. At the same time, the tastes that I experience as I lick and suck on my lovers, brings me incredible satisfaction as well.

Shuggie: If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be and why?

Lydia: I would have learned at an earlier age that other people’s feelings are important.

Shuggie: Boxers v Briefs? / Panties v Thong?

Lydia: I hate thongs, they are uncomfortable. I like lacy panties, cotton boxers and anything that is soft and comfortable.

Shuggie: What’s the question you’ve always wanted to be asked, but have never been asked?

Lydia: Will you marry me?

Shuggie: What do you like the most about writing erotic stories?

Lydia: I like the attention and the feedback. I am a very insecure person. My writing gives me a way to get positive feedback.

Shuggie: How long have you been writing now? How did it all get started and what made you write your first story?

Lydia: My first real writing was a journal I started when I was about 12 years old. I had some issues that needed to be aired and I had no reasonable way to do so other than a private journal. I wrote my first entry in the journal to make the pain go away. It helped.

Shuggie: What categories are most of your stories in? Is there a particular reason for this catagory? What kind would you never write?

Lydia: I had to go back to my profile to answer this one. Apparently, I have several in the “First Time” category although they run the gamut from straight to gay. I have no idea why, other than to say that my first time was not good, or appropriate, and I often fantasize what it would be like for a nice first time. The only thing I would never write, and Art also wouldn’t post, is anything involving children. I think anyone who has sex with a child need’s to be put to death, slowly and painfully. But, first they should be castrated using a rusty, dull blade and no anesthetic. Oh, yeah and they should be forced to watch the procedure on a large screen TV. Sorry, if that is too graphic, just go ahead and delete it.

Shuggie: Which story is your personal favorite, the one you enjoyed writing the most, and/or the one holds the best memories or feelings for you?

Lydia: I have two stories that are special to me. First, there is a 4-part story called ‘Sloan’. that I am really happy with because it was the first time I felt I did a good job with character development. In addition, some of the angst of the main characters is very real to me. The other story I really like is one of my lowest scoring stories called ‘Katie’.. This is a long story and again I felt it had some good character development.

Shuggie: Have you ever gotten so turned on while writing that you had to stop to masturbate? What story was it?

Lydia: I have to be honest and admit that I have never written a complete story for this site, that didn’t involve at least a couple of breaks for masturbation. I believe that if the story doesn’t move the author, then it will never move the audience. If I want a scene to be steamy for my readers, it had better be steamy for me.

Shuggie: Do you write from fantasy or true stories or a combination of both? Please explain or give an example.

Lydia: The short answer is ‘all of the above’. The gay male stories are all based on supposedly true stories told to me by friends. I add detail and sometimes tweak circumstances to improve the readability but I try to stay true to the events. All of the straight and lesbian sex scenes involve sexual positions and circumstances that I have personally experienced. However, sometimes the story will make something more extreme. For instance, the series called ‘Movie Night’.. has two girls servicing dozens of guys at a porno on campus. While I have done something similar, it was fewer guys and it was not a repeat thing at the same theatre like in the story.

Shuggie: Are the characters in your story based on real people, did you make them up, or are they a combination of both?

Lydia: 99% of the characters are either very specific people I have known or composites of a couple of people I have known. I appear in several of my stories.

Shuggie: What parts of "Yourself" do you put into your characters?

Lydia: Any time I have a major character with small breasts you can bet it is probably based on me. When a major character shows a weakness for sex or has a personal character flaw that is also usually me.

Shuggie: If there was one trait you could take from one of your characters in your stories, and put it in place in your real life, what would it be and why?

Lydia: I would make myself more altruistic like ‘Katie’..

Shuggie: How long does it take for you to write a complete story? How does the process go?

Lydia: Usually, I fantasize/masturbate to the story for weeks as I try to go to sleep. I actually see the words and visualize the characters in my mind. I hear the dialogue and feel the heat. Once I have realized that this is an intense masturbation fantasy that has staying power, I begin to type. Generally, I need 5 to 8 hours of typing/editing time plus anywhere from 1-3 hours of masturbation time to complete a story.

Shuggie: How do you come up with your story titles?

Lydia: That continues to be the weakest part of my writing. Looking back, I frequently use the name of the main character in some way.

Shuggie: What is the hardest part of writing a story?

Lydia: Constantly replacing the batteries in my vibrator (just kidding). I guess it is the story titles. By the time I go to pick a title, my brain and my fingers are exhausted.

Shuggie: Have you ever done research for a part of a story you didn’t have any knowledge about, or maybe for a sex scene?

Lydia: I have never had to do research because most of what I write is based on stuff I’ve done. The only exceptions are my gay male stories and I wouldn’t consider it actual research as much as good listening skills.

Shuggie: If a movie was ever made of one of your stories, which story would you want it to be, and who would play the lead characters?

Lydia: I think I’d like to see ‘Budget Trouble’. made into a movie with someone like Sarah Michelle Gellar playing the lead.

Shuggie: Romantic escape. If you could take your significant other somewhere, where would it be? And how would you make it a date to remember?

Lydia: Again, I have no current significant other. But, in the spirit of being responsive I would say somewhere with a warm beach. I would make it a date to remember by making sure I put all of my energy and efforts into making him or her feel happy.

Shuggie: what best defines your life champagne and roses or cuddled up on the sofa with a bottle of wine? Or something else?

Lydia: Lying on the bed naked amidst a bunch of rose petals as my lover first drips champagne onto me and then licks it from my body.

Shuggie: (pure fantasy) If you had the chance to spend one night making mad passionate love to someone who would it be? Why them? And how do you think they would rate you as a lover?

Lydia: I have no idea! But, I can tell you this; they would definitely rate me at the top of the scale as a lover. I haven’t practiced as much as I have, to be anything short of memorable.

Shuggie: Do you have any secret stories you don’t want to publish for the public? Do you publish your stories on other sites besides EroticStories.com and if so, why? Have you ever been published on paper?

Lydia: Yes, I have stories that will never be published in public. I don’t publish on other sites, although I do have an idea for a story that would not meet Art’s guidelines that I may post elsewhere later in the year. I have not been published on paper.

Shuggie: When you receive negative comments do you just ignore them, build from them, or let it put a negative image over the story itself, and let it hinder your writing?

Lydia: It depends on the quality of the comment. I had one guy send me negative comments and he was nitpicking on dialogue, positions, and every little thing. The problem was he’d never published anything so it was hard to accept his criticism. On the other hand, when people put some thought into their comments and try to be constructive, I try to put down my defenses and see if I can learn from them.

Shuggie: Do you also enjoy reading erotic stories? Which categories do you enjoy the most? Do you like true stories or fantasies?

Lydia: As I said earlier, I do enjoy reading erotica. I try to sample from all of the flavors available to me. I neither know nor care if a story is true or fantasy. What matters to me is the quality of the story itself. One of my pet peeves is spelling errors (just use spell check) and people who don’t use paragraph breaks. Those both kill the readability for me and frequently I won’t finish reading them.

Shuggie: Do you vote on other author's stories? How do you decide what score to give when you do?

Lydia: I only vote if I can honestly give a story a 9 or 10. My criteria are simple; did I feel that the characters and action were compelling to me.

Shuggie: Do you send other author’s comments or feedback on their stories?

Lydia: Again, I only send feedback where I think I can be constructive and helpful. But, if someone submits a story that is riddled with typos and spelling mistakes, I am not going to waste my time giving feedback.

Shuggie: Do you have a favorite author on ES? What makes them your favorite?

Lydia: I don’t have any one favorite. I find my mood often dictates what style I like on a particular day. ES has a number of truly talented writers and it has a number of truly deep, honest writers. I respect them both for bringing to the table a little piece of themselves.

Shuggie: Collaboration. Would you like to write with another author on this site and if so who? What would the story be about?

Lydia: I don’t think I could write with someone else on the site. Partially, because I am a control freak and also because I think everyone has such a unique style. I have written a fantasy piece about me and Chrissie (aka Naughty Miranda) and I am working on a fantasy piece about Kristen and me.

Shuggie: The forum! We see that you are one of the active users of the sites forum, Do you feel the forum covers enough subjects to make a contribution to the site? How do you feel about the advice given by the aunties and contributors? And is their anything that they could do to make the forum better?

Lydia: I like the forum because I can toss out my little snippets of wit, sarcasm, and sometimes-useful advice without spending the time it would take to write a story. I see no need to change it; it is what it is.

Shuggie: When you read a story do you: A. Touch yourself and come around the same time as one of the characters does? B. Touch yourself but wait for the end to come? C. Touch yourself but wait until after you finish the story to come, such as after going to bed? D. Not touch yourself until you are finished and then continue thinking about the story and come? E. Any other variation you may have? (Please tell us what it is)

Lydia: As the action builds in my stories toward a series of climaxes I find myself typing more one handed than two handed. I sometimes can’t hold off my own orgasm as long as the characters in the story. Other times we come together. I find that if I try to put off my own orgasm too long, my mind finds it difficult to stay focused on the writing.

Shuggie: Do you enjoy the visual side of erotica, as in porn movies or pictures? If so, do you have any favorites?

Lydia: I like the sounds of sex more than the visual. I love movies that have story lines and relationships that then turn to sex. But, just put my ear buds in and play the soundtrack of a couple having sex and watch me get myself off.

Shuggie: Do you remember the first pornography you ever saw? Tell us about it?

Lydia: I can’t.

Shuggie: Have you ever participated in erotic photography? If so, please tell us about it. If not, would you rather be the photographed or the photographer?

Lydia: The photo on my profile was part of a shoot I did with a friend who needed to build a portfolio. That is the only time someone who wasn’t a sexual partner has photographed me. I have set up video cameras in my bedroom and I have footage of me pleasuring myself as well as involved with others. I have also shot video of others having sex and while that is fun, let’s face it having an orgasm is way better, than filming one.

Shuggie: What do you wear to bed?

Lydia: Panties and a t-shirt.

Shuggie: Do your sex life and writing have any correlation with each other??

Lydia: I’m not sure. I tend to write more when I am between lovers because I have more free time.

Shuggie: How would you rate your willingness to try new things in bed?

Lydia: I am usually quite willing to try new things. There are a few things I just won’t do even once, and a couple of things I might not do again.

Shuggie: What’s the kinkiest thing you have done in your life?

Lydia: It depends on what you mean by kinky. I suppose that the time I gave a blowjob to my boyfriend in the back of the church during midnight mass on Christmas Eve, may rank high on some people’s kinky meter but I have participated in so much public sex that I don’t really think of that as kinky. If you read the forum, you may recall the time I put a small cell phone in my pussy, set for vibrate. That should qualify as kinky for just about everyone.

Shuggie: Do you have any fantasies that you would like to fulfill?

Lydia: I would like to settle down someday with someone who loved me and I loved back.

Shuggie: Do you have any funny stories or have anything strange happened during sex that you would like to share with your readers.

Lydia: Okay, this one is kind of a secret so don’t tell anyone else. I was playing around with some handcuffs and had secured my lover to the headboard. I did a nice job riding him and then bringing him back to life a few times and it was time for me to go, as his parents were due home shortly. Unfortunately, in our time of passion, somehow the keys became misplaced. I was rushing around trying to get myself dressed and find the keys. As we heard the garage door open, I found the keys on the floor under his briefs. We barely had time for him to run into the bathroom to get dressed and for me to get to the family room and turn on the TV.

Shuggie: What do you think about solo sex?

Lydia: Easily the greatest invention in the history of mankind. I could go without fire but I couldn’t live without masturbation.

Shuggie: What are your favourite; and least favourite positions?

Lydia: Least favorite is sitting at the desk paying bills. I really hate that. Seriously, I like being on top when fucking a guy and in a 69 with another woman.

Shuggie: Do you believe in one night stands?

Lydia: They exist, I’ve seen them. I also have participated in them. I think in the same way that masturbation fills a need, so too can anonymous sex. Sex can be good outside of relationships. I also find some people are hypocritical about this when they say one night stands are wrong and then they sleep with someone on the second date; like that makes it so much more special. Do I sound defensive?

Shuggie: What makes someone sexy to you?

Lydia: A pulse. Okay, I am a little more selective than that. On a guy I like a nice tight ass. On a girl it is the eyes that first attract me. Once the initial impression is over, I find that a petite woman who is both attractive and shy, not too much makeup, is very sexy. With guys, I like someone who can carry on a conversation that doesn’t suggest that he only wants to fuck me.

Shuggie: What is a major turn on for you during sex?

Lydia: Almost anything is a turn on for me during sex. I love when they tell me what feels good (feedback not directions). I love the sounds my partners make as they have their orgasms. It gives me a great sense of accomplishment and I find myself getting aroused by their release.

Shuggie: What is a major turn off for you during sex?

Lydia: Any discussion of past lovers, poor personal hygiene, any mention of a spouse, unless they are in the bed with us.

Shuggie: Sex-talk. Do you like or dislike talking during sex?

Lydia: Again, as I mentioned when you asked about turn on’s, I like positive feedback like “Oh, yeah, I love the way your tongue feels on my clit.” However, any mention of prior lovers really kills the mood. One guy thought it was a good thing when he said, “Wow, you give better head than my last girlfriend.” Not surprisingly, I responded by telling him “That’s what the other three guys I blew today said.”

Shuggie: In bed or on the kitchen table?

Lydia: Are they mutually exclusive? Let’s face it a bed is comfortable and properly padded for a lot of positions and the kitchen table isn’t. However, there is a lot of excitement from different locations. The important thing, if you do it on the kitchen table, is to wash it before your mother comes over for dinner.

Shuggie: What is your favourite or most memorable moment in bed?

Lydia: I was 19 years old and home for the summer. I woke to the sound of someone telling me that a person I despised with all my heart and soul had died. It felt as if a giant weight had been lifted from me and my life had started anew.

Shuggie: Is there anybody on this site, who you would like to see interviewed? Why?

Lydia: You’ve interviewed many of the people I would have chosen. I think anyone who is a regular contributor to the site would be a good choice.

Shuggie: Do you notice any differences between the "younger" writers on here, and between the "older writers" of this site?

Lydia: I never look at age unless the author intentionally uses it as a writing tool.

Shuggie: Do you have any advice or tips on writing that you wish to share with any budding authors?

Lydia: I said it earlier, if it doesn’t move you when you write it, it is not going to move me when I read it.

Shuggie: You are #11 on the “Top 100 favourite authors” list. How does it feel to know that 286 people have marked you as one of their favourite authors.

Lydia: Actually, I didn’t realize until I read this question that I was 11th. It is kind of humbling. I don’t know if I can live up to the expectations of all of them. I really am happy and proud that people really like my stories.

Shuggie: Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers in this interview and to your fans? Now is your chance...

I really enjoy writing and publishing on ES on a number of levels. Frankly, I love getting myself off as I write about my exploits and my fantasies. I love the thought that other men and women are getting themselves off to my stories. I have had couples tell me that they read my stories (together or aloud to one another) as a form of foreplay and that is very exciting to me too. Thank you to my readers and my fellow authors. It is both a pleasure and a privilege to be here with you.
