Chapter 1- On Her Own

It's every teenagers dream to leave their parents house and make it in the big world. Sometimes they follow the boulevard of dreams and often come home as a failure with the many who just don't make it. Or they take things slow and wait until they know everything is set for them. For Simone Jackson, neither of these is the case.

Simone was a fairly good student in high school, she made "A's," "B's" and occasionally a "C" in mathematics. She stayed in high school for all four years and took her SAT, ACT and retook her PSAT her senior year. She went to prom and did senior skip day. By no means was she thinking anything wild like deciding to be a famous singer, going to design school in New York City or becoming a model like some of her friends. She knew she was a small town girl who would probably get a small town job as a nurse.

She had decided when she graduated she'd take all her worldly possessions and move to whatever college choose her. She didn't think she could impose her mother any longer than the minimum requirement of eighteen years.
