Cancun Vacation, Part One

About six months ago my wife and a co-worker had bid on a trip to Mexico for four. The trip had been donated by one of the higher-ups in the company. Every year my wife's office has a silent auction, with proceeds raised going to various local charities.

Liz, my wife, always anticipates the silent auction and would stay up late the particular evening the auction would go live on their inter-office website. In the past we had won a variety items at reduced rates, including one year when we bid on and won a three-night trip to Vegas for just the two of us. The more they talked, the more they thought that maybe it made sense to bid on it. That afternoon I got a call at work.
