The Book Launch

Steve felt embarrassed as he stood in the queue in the bookshop. He was the only man in a long line of women! Not that that was the problem, nothing he liked better than admiring the female form in all its manifestations. He was in a queue to get a book signed by someone everyone in the queue seemed to know as just "Kim". She was a cookery writer that his grown up daughter Sarah idolised. His daughter now lived away from home but when they last saw each other this Kim seemed to be the only person she talked about.

Sarah was the most important woman in his life since his separation from her mother some years back. Sure there had been lots of other mature women since, indeed he was probably seen as quite a catch; a good looking successful businessman in his early forties. So having seen that this Kim was doing a book signing in town, he thought perhaps a signed copy would be a great present next time he saw her.

As he had entered the shop he was surprised by the posters. Not quite his expectation of a cookery writer. Kim looked very cute in the posters. In her mid, maybe late twenties, the posters had her dressed in a sort of retro style, with fifties dress and jet black hair. She had an engaging smile that emanated from a mouth painted bright cherry red and the focus of her face.
