Chapter Seventeen

Soon the weather began to warm again and Roxy was able to get out of the house again. She was itching to be able to mow the lawn and enjoy the warm sun. April discovered that one of the pitchers from their softball league had become pregnant over the winter and would not be able to pitch so April decided that Roxy would become a pitcher, while it wasn't the position that Roxy wanted to play, she couldn't refuse April's request.

Roxy convinced Jessica and her mom to practice with her when Jessica wasn't playing or practicing for her high school team. Since Jessica was going to play travel ball over the summer, she and her mother would not be able to play so it was nice to be able to see them and help Jessica get better.

"So do you think Jody will let us use her house next Saturday while she and Reba are at the woman's conference?" Roxy asked as they were getting into bed.
