I nodded and she said "Come see me tomorrow at home. I want to set up my tablet or one of our phones to record what happens. I need to see what happens. I believe you babe, but you know me, I need to see?" I smiled "So, research, not cheating?" Tanya blushed then said "As long as you don't tell Stephanie, we can do as much research as you want, hopefully everyday, and as far as I'm concerned, we'll find out who rigs the American Idol votes before anyone finds out about us."

Stephanie set her spoon down, stared at Kaitlin, and I never saw it coming when she said "If I choose to spend time with Chris, flirt with him, even tease him, that's my choice. What you should know is he only has eyes for you, rebuffed most of my flirting, and asked me yesterday about going to get you a ring."

Stephanie inhaled, stared at me, then Kaitlin said "Even if some kind of ridiculous cliche happened and I slept with Chris, there is no one on this planet that thinks he doesn't put you first in everything and I have to say Stephanie, I'm offended. I have treated you like a friend, a daughter and family all in one. It hurts me that you think so little of me that I would cheat on Bill, you, or put Chris in that position."

Silence.

Then with red, wet eyes, Stephanie said "I was in my head and I was wrong. I'm sorry Kaitlin. I love you Chris, I'm sorry, and if you were to sleep with Katie I know in my heart it would be because of the love you feel for each other. I was just worried that you might choose anyone over me." I gasped "Never" and held Stephanie while Kaitlin came over to rub Stephanie's back and say "How about we forget this conversation even happened?" Stephanie kissed me, held my hand while finishing her cereal, then after we put our stuff in the dishwasher, she held me in the bedroom and said "I'm sorry." I asked "Do you remember our conversation last night, just before you drank the ‘ENERGY' and we had sex?" Stephanie gave it some thought and said "It's kinda blurry. I think you asked me to trust you and said you wanted to tell me something today. We also made up and I don't know why you're bringing this up."

I dropped it and held Stephanie until she relaxed.

We kissed and I said "Have a great day at work."

A few more kisses, Stephanie left, then Kaitlin put her glass in the dishwasher and asked "Would you like to have our conversation now?" I nodded and she held her arms open, smiled at me, and I moved closer to hold her. After a warm embrace, still holding each other, Kaitlin stared into my eyes with sheer romance and it both concerned me and thrilled me. We kissed a warm, forbidden, romantic kiss, then Kaitlin sighed "So here's my question, brought sharply to the forefront by your beautiful but insecure future wife. Can you keep a life changing secret Chris. Would you and can you?"

I nodded and said "I would do anything for you Katie."

She smiled then asked "Are you sure? Anything?"
