"It's because I'm not good enough for you. I’m just a farmhand and you’re my employer."

"That's bullshit and you know it!" fumed Matthew, before he stormed out of the house.

Matthew was disappointed that he had to leave like this. He felt that Jose was being unreasonable.

The kid gave his body to Jose like he did to no one else. And Jose was certainly taking advantage of it. They were fucking DAILY. What more could Jose want?

Matthew had already made it clear that he did not have feelings for his Latin friend. But his relationship troubles with Jose had to be put aside, for Alex needed him and, in many ways, he also needed Alex.

When Matthew met up with Alex, they goofed off in town, grabbing coffee and people watching. Matthew intentionally wanted to be seen in public with his best friend. He wanted the rest of the world to know that he would never be friends with anyone who didn’t accept Alex.

Later that night, they go clubbing. Matthew had managed to borrow the fake IDs again. They ordered drinks and checked out the crowded room, before hitting the dance floor for some serious cardio. Throughout the night, a lot of girls came over to dance with the two handsome lads, leaving their phone numbers with them.

"Did you have fun tonight?" asked Matthew.

Alex nodded.

"You were quite popular. Everyone wanted to dance with you."

"Whatever, Matt."

When they got back to Alex’s place, Matthew walked his best friend to the front door.

"Matt …."

"Yeah?"

"Do you have feelings for my sister?"

Matthew froze.

“I don’t.”

"And did you do anything with her recently?"

"We kissed,” confessed Matthew.

Almost immediately, Matthew felt guilty. The last time they argued about Sara, Alex had hit him.

“I'm sorry, Alex. I should have told you. Please don't be mad."

"It's okay. Sara told me what happened. She confessed that she was at fault and promised to leave you alone. She did that after I told her I think I'm in love … with you."

Matthew: “...”

Before Matthew had a chance to respond, Alex’s mom opened the front door.
