Chapter 42 – Debts to Clear (2/2)
After getting Gordon’s full attention, Matthew reached for his glass on the side table and took a sip. Then he started undressing.
First, Matthew pulled off his shirt, revealing a shredded upper body. Gordon watched the kid fold his shirt, which he placed on the side table next to him.
“I’m sorry I rushed you to help me find my father. Originally, I needed something to distract me from what happened back home, so I got you to help me find my father. But now that I’m returning to Georgia, it’s no longer a priority.”
“It’s fine, Matthew.”
Matthew took another sip of his drink. Then proceeded to take his pants off. Gordon saw how the boxer briefs held tightly to the kid’s body and left little to the imagination in terms of what was underneath. He watched the kid fold his pants, which he placed on top of the folded shirt.
“Although you didn’t say how much of a bonus you paid the detective, I’m sure it was a lot.”
“Don’t worry about it,” assured Gordon, who was increasingly distracted by the kid’s strip tease.
Matthew then pulled his socks off and placed them on top of the neatly folded pile of clothes.
“Because I couldn’t iron your clothes this week, I took these items off to compensate you for that. They will remain off for the next thirty minutes, which is how long it usually takes for me to iron your clothes.”
Gordon swallowed.
“From the look on your face, I trust you are okay with this arrangement?”
Gordon nodded.
Matthew went to the bar to refill his drink. When he returned, he took another sip.
“As for the final payment for the work you did to find my father … ideally I should pay you in cash. However, I was wondering if you would be interested in making a trade?”
“What … do you want to trade?”
“The pair of boxer briefs I’m wearing right now.”
“Do I get to keep it?”
Matthew nodded.
Gordon visibly gulped.
“Now you know why I took off everything except for this. I purposely left it on so you could personally take it off yourself.”
Gordon: “...”
“But before you do that, there’s one more matter to discuss.”
“What … is it?”
“The pair of handcuffs next to you. Remember when I gave them to you for your birthday? I was too drunk that night, so you didn’t get the chance to use them.”
