Brad pulled into the parking lot of the all-night restaurant, shut off the car and turned to Micki. "Want to get a sundae or something?" he asked.

"Sure," Micki replied.

They went inside, sat down at a booth, and ordered. The longer she was with him, the more Micki enjoyed Brad's company. She would have liked it better if she were attracted to him as a potential boyfriend, but those feelings just weren't there. She did like Brad as a friend, though, and since she valued his friendship, she decided she didn't want to use him to get back at Al Benjamin the way she'd originally planned.
