We plan to see one of the wildlife areas, so we get in our car and head in that direction. Traffic stops two cars ahead of us because a family of bears is crossing the road on our left. Instead of heading into the woods, the first bear leads them along the side of the road. The second bear, who is the biggest, stops for a moment and looks at you through the window. He continues, and the last cub crosses the road, so traffic resumes.

We pull into the parking lot for the guided tour that we're going to take, and I ask why you're shivering. You tell me that the bear scared you. I put my arms around you and tell you we're safe now. We take the tour, and we get very lucky by the standards of most park visitors--we see another bear in the distance. You're not so happy. You immediately put your arms around me until it's gone. When the group moves on, you hold on to me. I kiss you and tell you we need to move on. You say, "No. Stay here with me." I can't refuse you, so I turn and kiss you. You kiss me back, hard, and I put my arms around your waist and squeeze you. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I ask.
