Just Helping Out

A few days ago, we had some pretty fierce storms rumble through our area, causing a lot of damage to the local community. Luckily for me, I didn't suffer much damage to my home, but for the homes across the way, the story was different. A tree down the block had fallen onto the power lines and that whole side of the road had no electricity. It had been about two days since the power company had even visited the area, and they didn't know when they would be around again. I decided I would be a bit helpful, and offer some utilities to the people across the way. I wanted to offer my utility to the ladies daughter across the way, if you know what I mean.

I waited outside until she got home from work, and I waved to her as she walked up the stairs to her house. Within a few min I watched as she stormed out the door again and began walking towards me. She walked up my driveway and asked me if I had any power, and I told her that I did. She then sighed and said that hers was still out, and I quickly jumped on the situation. I offered her some utilities and even told her that she could shower if she wanted to. She hesitated at first, but then realized that she probably wouldn't have her lights on anytime soon so she accepted my offer.
