Chapter 11: The Mentor

FBI Profiler Sydney Babcock listened to serial killer David Cartwright tell her all he knew about his mentor Daryl Powers. Unbeknownst to the killer, Sydney had recommended his incarceration in the Florence ADMAX prison in Colorado, hoping the solitary confinement and severe restrictions would make him talk. When he was arrested he refused to talk about the man she saw in a psychic vision when she touched him.

Sydney had a legal pad in front of her and took notes despite the conversation being taped. Writing down bullet points helped reinforce what he told her in her mind.

He said, "I worked with him in Detroit. We worked for the same building contractor. Michael White worked with us too and Daryl was friends with Mike before he met me.
