I was approaching the ticket window at the airport in Cincinnati last November, as I was finishing up my final business trip of the year, when I ran into Tony, a guy who worked for my company, except he worked in the New York office, while I worked in the Jersey office. We had met during this trip, as we were both there for a work-related convention. We had met, the first day we were there for the convention, and had hit it off pretty good. We enjoyed the week, attending the convention, and getting to know each other since we worked for the same company. He was a pretty nice guy, and seemed very friendly. We chatted throughout the week, and he told me about his family. He said he was married and had kids, which seemed a bit weird because he also came across as quite a ladies man. He loved to chat and playfully flirted with me on several occasions, which is why I thought he was single. I didn't mind the attention as I was just enjoying some company while I was on this trip. His friendliness helped the week go by pretty quickly because the conventions could become extremely boring.

We ran into each other at the airport and headed to the ticket counter together, because we were on the same flight, since we worked 45 min. away from each other. We chatted as we waited on line, and as we were doing so, I noticed that a couple people in front us walk away disappointed and frustrated. As they walked away, I walked up to the counter and handed the employee my ticket. He punched a couple things on the computer and told me that he had some bad news. My flight had been overbooked, and they were booking anyone who was on that flight, ...
