A month and a half ago, my wife and I along with her sister and parents, were invited to a family wedding. One of my wife's cousins was getting married again and my father-in-law insisted that we all attend the wedding, because it was his brother's son. Nobody wanted to go because we had attended his first wedding several years ago, which took place right after hurricane Sandy struck our neighborhood, and we were attending a wedding instead of cleaning up and trying to get back on our feet. That marriage didn't last very long, and we felt like we had wasted our time and money. My wife knew her cousin wasn't the marrying type and didn't understand why he was trying to tie the knot again.

On the day of the wedding, everyone decided that I would drive, as much as I didn't want to. My in-laws all piled into the back seat of my truck, and we were soon on our way to the church.

As we attended the church ceremony, I sat in between my wife and her sister, Raquel, and the two of us joked around throughout most of the ceremony. Raquel was one to often critique and judge others, and I always laughed at her comments. It probably wasn't the right thing to do, joking around in church, but it made the time go by quicker.

Once the church ceremony was done, we all hopped back into my truck and were soon on the way to the restaurant where the reception would be held. We arrived a short time later and made our way inside where we were guided to a hall, to enjoy appetizers and such. It was a big room, ...
