Of all the professions out there, no one has to answer to more masters than teachers do. Between the school boards who hire them and the principals who moniter their every move, to varying degrees, teachers also have to deal with the competitive, and often times petty nature of their colleagues. That doesn't even begin to take into account the dozens, if not, hundreds of students that come and go each day.

Having been a teacher for going on seven years, 31 year old DeeDee Alexander knew these pitfalls all too well. Having spent the first six years working in the city of Sacramento's school system, DeeDee suddenly found herself in the rural outpost of a small San Jaoquin Valley town.
