The last thing that I wanted to do today was take the boss's daughter for a 90 minute drive out to Coolamein to organise an air-conditioning quote.

Amy has been a part of the company for only about three months and at just over 21 years of age, and with two years of failed university education behind her, she was just learning the ropes.

I, on the other hand, have been with the firm since I was her age and have been there since the day she was born. I even remember the boss's hot English wife Audrey bringing Amy into the office when she was just a bub.

Over the years Audrey had an affair, they split up, reformed, split up again before she finally headed back to London, taking Amy with her. Likewise I too had had my string of failed relationships and at 40 had been married once, no offspring, and was currently having a loose relationship with a 38 year old mother of three.

So for the past decade or more Amy has been absent, bar from the odd photo that her father Tim had around his office. Needless to say the change was staggering. I always thought that Audrey was incredibly hot and sexy, but Amy was an even bigger improvement.

Tim was one of those blokes that kept a strong distance between work and play. None of the workers were his friends, and apart from the Christmas party, there was never any socialising between us and him.

He had a very gentle nature and was softly spoken. Because of that the assumption was that he was a closet gay. Plus some of the women in the office also thought he was, so it wasn't just us loud macho blokes banging on about it.

Amy is petite like her mother, but Amy has larger breasts, dimples on her cheeks when she smiles and the same long, wavy, dark hair of her mother.

Try as I might, I find it difficult not to stare at her when she is in the office. There are 10 of us employed as electricians or refrigeration mechanics, all men, and the three in the office are all women who, like me, have been there for years.

As attractive as Amy is though, she has all the characteristics of being a spoiled brat who has her father wrapped around her finger.

"Sorry mate," he said to me as Amy wandered nonchalantly out towards my van. "She insisted that she goes out to this job. There's some connection with university friends from Europe now living out there, working on farms or some bullshit."

"She hasn't got her driver's licence then?" I asked.

"Nah, just bludging lifts everywhere. Shits me no end."

"Is she back here for good?"

Tim passed me the assessment sheet and said, "Looks like it. Anyway, go hard on this job mate, the Hogans are pretty loaded Amy said. I think she wants to check out their house too."

Sharon and Marcus Hogan were the customers' names and the property was on the outskirts of Coolamein. The aerial photo showed that they had an evaporative cooler and solar panels already installed, so I simply assumed that they were upgrading to reverse-cycle.

"Full ducted job then. Nice."

Tim slapped me on the back and nodded towards the van. "Drive safe," he said.

I gathered my gear and sauntered towards the car and thought that I could see Amy taking photos of me, however the glare off the warehouse wall blinded me.
